Dorky FOX Noise host calls Obama a 'nerd'
Edited on Tue Jun-10-08 03:22 PM by Fighting Irish
On the June 9 edition of Fox News' Live Desk with Martha MacCallum, blogger and Fox News correspondent Griff Jenkins said of a recent photo of Sen. Barack Obama taking a bicycle ride: "Where is he going? And I was thinking, maybe to get a pocket protector for his nerd pencils. What is that?" Jenkins went on to contrast Obama's photo with photos of President Bush and Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) taking bike rides, describing Bush's photo as follows: "ou got a manly mountain bike coming down the trails, a strong bike -- it fits him."

And here's Griff Jenkins:

Takes one to know one, I guess.

2. CNN called him a DORK earlier today.
They showed him on a bicycle with a bike helmet on, and had the label "Dork rides bicycle."

Get ready for more of same.

4. Ha!
All that guy needs is a strip of tape wrapped around his nose piece and he would be a textbook example of nerd.

And not the cool David Byrne kind of nerd.

5. He's a terrorist fist jabbing nerd?
Fox is having serious difficulty getting their stereotypes straight this election.

Good luck guys.

6. One thing is certain, if Obama is a nerd then it'll be very hip to be a nerd.

7. This really shows the bias there at Fox News
Though it's no surprise, I wonder if any of their listeners from 2004 might get whip lash from the Kerry description. In 2004, crediting him with being an athlete, never happened. Now, they actually exaggerate it - Kerry has raced in charity bike races (100 plus miles) as recently as a year ago. I also never thought falling off mountain bikes to be all that manly. The one of the three that looks weird is Bush.

Is this what they said in 2004?
"You got Kerry, looks like he's doing the Ironman, very triathlete-looking. He is an athlete of course and rides bikes competitively I'm told, back in the day, and that's what the campaign was trying to do. And then they let Senator Obama be seen with jeans and sneakers, looks like Jerry Seinfeld."

In 2004, biking clothes were wrong, now jeans and sneakers are?
