This Obama supporter hopes Clinton supporters stick around after tomorrow
I know everyone is celebrating the end of GDP, but personally, I feel like I am going to miss it. DailyKos got kind of boring after it became all Obama supporters. I like the diversity of opinion here, and I hope that the Clinton supporters who have not already left will decide to stay after tomorrow. Yes, we've fought sometimes, but with the exception of a few rotten apples, I think most of you are genuine Democrats dedicated to your candidate. I hope you will decide to support Obama but even if you still have reservations I hope you stick around.

The night before the PA primary, I got really discouraged. I knew he was going to lose, and I posted a mopey post saying that I had been out volunteering all weekend but was feeling demoralized. What surprised me was the fact that at least 3 or 4 Clinton supporters responded encouraging me to keep on going and not to get discouraged. I'm sympathetic to what you all must be going through, and I really hope you don't decide to leave DU after tomorrow. But if you need to step back and take a break, it's understandable. Maybe you'll like Obama better after getting away from his more outspoken DU supporters. But I'll miss most of you if you do go :(

The most disturbing thing in gd:p has been the demands by some to toe the line. I want to hear different voices, different views.

deserve it, the "Female Cold Shoulder". I don't forgive easily, and there are a lot of us who felt like battered wives or girlfriends, or the male equivalent. Many of you should be very ashamed of yourselves.

Please don't give that proverbial answer "Ya'll did it, too." We all know there were ten times as many O supporters than H supporters, and ya'll stuck it to us in a revolting way. It's a miracle there are any of us still here.

I've said my piece, and for my own protection, I will be leaving quickly, so there is no need to start trying to bloody me.

That disgusting mindset is one of the biggest reasons I don't like Obama supporters.

51. you see--those are lies and distortions about Clinton
I hope those lies and distortions are not allowed to continue. Her campaign was no more "reprehensible" than Obama's was. You and your cohorts keep saying this like it is fact. It is a distortion, exaggeration, twisting of her campaign by Obama and his supporters.

Lies and distortions. Obama's campaign was just as "reprehensible" as Clinton's--and actually I would say more so, because Obama used race to divide.

54. The Tuzla video isn't a lie. The official records of clinton's PRO-NAFTA meetings aren't a lie.
Her claims to having a significant role in the Northern Ireland peace process being refuted by people ACTUALLY INVOLVED isn't a lie.

The fact that the mother died IN the hospital WITH insurance - despite clinton's assertions to the contrary - isn't a lie.

You can't dismiss the evidence that proves she lied, no matter how desperately you wish to do so.

(Oh, and her race-baiting, along with bill's proven I-didn't-say-that-except-there's-evidence-on-tape-I-did lie.)

When it comes to honesty, you lose. Just like clinton did.

48. I cannot tell you how that meant to me.
Because it practically defines how I went from the fence to Hillary. (I started out for Edwards, and would still take him over wither one of them).

But this, 'we wanna dish it, but we sure can't take it' sort of shows the mindset that I believe a lot of people find unsettling.

Edited on Tue Jun-10-08 07:00 PM by DemExpat
Thanks so much for being seemingly GENUINELY nice and reaching out. Not sucking up to the losers ONLY after your man was victorious - as most "unity" threads seem to be here. IMHO

So many Hillary supporters have been chased off or banned here, it has felt more like an Obama supporters site for months than DU, so I don't know how long I'll be here.

Certainly it doesn't feel like the DU I had grown to love so much, as the overwhelming nastiness - agreed that it was the numbers, not necessarily the candidate supporter group itself - that made DU unbearably brutal to many Hillary supporters. It is difficult to feel good about a forum that I thought was a good progressive and inclusive site and that allowed this bullying to take place.

But thanks very much for your kind post.

But IMO this has been much nastier and downright freeperish in the bullying, ridicule, non-tolerance of a minority viewpoint(far less Clinton supporters) and sexism this time around with a woman candidate.

33. I am a Hillary supporter....
and I rarely post on these boards, the hatred against Hillary has been out of control. Even now, she has conceded and released her delegates, and the bashing continues. I can easily understand why Clinton supporters would not want to be a part of the message boards. Many Clinton supporters, including myself will vote for Obama, that was always the plan to vote for whoever the nominee was to be. Some of the Obama supporters on DU though make it pretty difficult though to think about voting for him when they just can't stop themselves from the Hillary bashing. Let it go already.

Regardless of who we supported in the primary, we all knew someone would win, and someone would lose. We could battle for years over who we think is better, but it is pointless. We have a nominee, and now let's move on to the White House! McCain is not the one to lead this country! Thank you for your kind post!
