Is it my imagination OR are RW ideologues trying to give Obama insane suggestions?
Are they trying to make sure they push Obama SO FAR RIGHT that he is unacceptable to the Left? What do you think they are trying to do?

My choice
I will support Obama through the hills and valleys of the campaign, but if the new strategy (because McCain is obviously not going to win) is to try to put Obama in such a tight box he can't move.

Libertarian perspective
I heard Tucker Carlson (yes, I know Tucker Carlson!) on Hardball say if Obama wants to win those social and cultural voters in these rust belt states, he needs to end affirmative action. He said Obama is the only one who can do it, we've had it for 40 years.

Conservative perspective
I heard George Will yesterday on Hardball (although it could have been on Morning Joe with Pat Buchanan-I DVR both) just talk about the obvious gap the conservative legislators have with the roots and they need to be taken out a few election cycles before they become true to their small government roots. Then, he said the nation as a whole deserves to go through another BIG LIBERAL period where we spend our way into a higher deficit than we have now.

Both arguments are bull, but the since the right speaks with a forked tongue they normally try to back someone in a particular direction. I watched Obama in the primary adhere to some basic tenets throughout and change tactics when required if an issue raised by the opponent hit certain pitches.

1. I remember hearing Repukes trying to tell the Dems (actually, veiled insults
aimed towards the ears of the ignorant public) how to beat them after the (FEAR! FEAR! FEAR!) 2002 elections ...

and I was thinking ... this is like the #1 team "trying to tell the #2 team how to beat them in the Superbowl" ... yeah, right ...

Look what happened to Hillary when she started campaigning like a Repugniconvict ...

3. McCain is trying to play to the left, Obama should just stay where he is.
