Mike Easley for VP.

He is Catholic and popular as far as a Democrat goes in NC. He is leaving office soon and I think he would be a great VP. He could help with Catholic votes and it would be easier for Obama to win here.

PS.He is also a King of the hill fan.

1. 'King Of The Hill' fan; that's a great reason to vote him in as VP!

2. I strongly disagree.
I don't like Easley at ALL. Not sure how much he'd really help here if he was on the ticket.

4. He also (from what I understand) really hates campaigning
and speaking in public in general - not sure that a national campaign is on his agenda. He's a pretty decent governor though. Hopefully we'll elect another Democrat to the position this year.

10. I live in NC. He's not going to win you NC. And I think he would rather do something like be AG
He's not really into being a politician.

He could of easily beat the crap out of Dole for the Senate. But he chose not to run

11. He's a DLC'er who likes to throw the word "pansy" around in speeches
Unless he's at a Pansy Division concert, that's not really cool.

12. Please no.
He's terribly bland and a "do nothing" governor. Bringing awareness to the state drought is about the only thing resembling leadership he's done in eight years.

13. He refused to be photographed with Kerry in 04.
I am active in politics in Charlotte, but I have never seen him at a convention or out supporting a local candidate. As best I can tell, he is not really a democrat but more a member of some shadow third party. I vote for him because he is better than a repub and he keeps the board of elections clean, not because I have any affinity or real allegiance to the guy.

He does win statewide elections with overwhelming support, but a lot of it may be soft support like mine.

14. NC'ers booed him when he endorsed Hillary, and he's in a world of shit right now
the media is suing him over violating public records law,

don't think Ive ever seen him photographed with a black person until
the other day when he was on stage with Obama.

We call him "Crash" easley for his antics trying to drive a race car
and recking it.

Oh, and he screwed up mental health care here.

17. Easley doesn't bother to attend Democratic Party "Mainstream Functions" he only goes
Edited on Tue Jun-10-08 11:21 PM by KoKo01
to the "High Roller Closed door" Parties in Charlotte held by the Bankers and Hedge Funds. He's no friend of Progressive Democrats and of all the NC Dem Party Functions I've attended...he has NEVER SHOWN UP! I don't even see him on the list for the Dem Convention at end of June..

He's a Repug "light." The Chamber of Commerce loves him. He was happy to have the Developers pave over most of Raleigh and destroy neighborhoods in his time as Govenor. I heard he's happier hanging out with his NASCAR buddies and doing his "woodworking."

He would be a terrible VP. I was glad to see he at least knew how to "knuckle bump" Obama...but I figure someone had to spend hours teaching it to him...and it was the only thing he ever did to get along with Democrats that I could see. He didn't even show up when Edwards had his last rally for the '04 Campaign when he was trying to help out Kerry...who didn't think NC was important after his first visit. He is "Absent Mike."
