I really wanted to post this in the General Discussion forum because it isn't about Hillary's
participation in the primary races. However, I fear censure if I mention her name ever again
on DU for any reason unless she is selected to be VP (snowball's chance in hell, simply because she
is hated by Obama and his followers, not because she isn't eminently qualified for the job). That said,
I found a thought provoking little article that I wanted to share with all. Too bad this thread dies on
Wednesday. Too freaking bad!

Hillary once mentioned the "vast right-wing conspiracy" that was out to sink Bill. It turned out that history
proved her correct. Well, it turns out
that there might have been yet another "conspiracy" that was out to sink her and to make money doing it.

It is possible to hate Sen Clinton for being Sen Clinton. No sexual bias involved. Some folk don't like her. That doesn't make them sexist.

Now, I don't hate Sen Clinton. However, because of some of the things she has said and done during this campaign(note: SHE has said and done) I have lost quite a bit of respect for her. She doesn't get a free pass just because she is a woman.

Sexism did not derail her campaign. The media agreed that she had this thing in the bag before it started and her campaign blew it.

I didn't have much of a problem with Hillary until she started to lose this nomination contest and went very negative on Obama to try and regain her advantage.

She was not drummed or hounded out of this race. Her campaign, upwards of $30 million in debt, was badly managed and the negativity backfired. She simply could not maintain her poll numbers and she didn't have the voter support to build a delegate lead. She was out-campaigned by her opponent, plain and simple.

She was the front-runner in polls, name recognition and money who couldn't hold the lead, not a come-from-nowhere hardscrabbler who was shunned by the boys' club.

Most of us here on DU have criticized Hillary for her actions and words, not because she's a woman. Sheesh. Enough with the "if you don't like Hillary, you're a woman-hater" meme.

And even the books you mention - while more than likely written by RW-types - don't necessarily convey sexism in their titles. Now, if you had mentioned a book like "Hillary: What Happens when Women get Power", then you'd have a very valid point. And I'm sure that there could very well be plenty of sexist language in those books you mentioned. But just the titles of those books are not sexist.

and the right wing aptly recognized her as the first woman likely to make a serious run for president. To them, that's more than enough reason to attack her and take her out.

They realized she was equal to her husband in brains, political skill and leadership ability. How else can you explain it? Its irrational for them to seize on any one woman with such a deliberate and sustained attack? She's never done anything to deserve it.

As to why she deserve it I guess you refuse to see how despicable her campaigning went. That kitchen sink strategy is why she turned off so many voters.

Plus her voting record was not at all desirable. Why would Democrats want a candidate that voted for this war and still can't bring herself to apologize for that vote while claiming that she wants to end the war? (Although I would suggest that it's more correctly called an occupation but I digress)

Such a candidate lacks credibility.
