I feel her talents would be wasted as veep.

I'd like to see her as head of Health and Education or on the Supreme Court.

Of course I would vote for the ticket.

we need younger justices who can last 30 years.

I'd love for her to have a Cabinet position and carve out her own personal legacy. I'd have to do some soul searching before I voted for an Obama/Clinton/Clinton ticket.

She is strong with many constituencies and will energize them. She would be a reasonable pick.

58. Checked the site. . .
Not really a hate site. Just a site full of disappointed and angry people. I can understand their
feelings, especially since their feelings are completely discounted and ignored here and by the
DNC.

Does anyone at all remember what it felt like in 2000 and again in 2004 when the current pResident
was selected for the office?

When people feel that they have been slighted, railroaded and treated unfairly, they get angry. They get even
angrier when the persons abusing them tell them to "get over it." Insult has
been added to injury by dems who are GLOATING over Obama's selection as nominee. When people's answer to
your unhappiness is to tell you to "get the fuck out" (happened to me here on DU), some people actually do
"get out" and they start a protest movement. No surprise. Not wrong and not illegal.

This is America, and people have the right to protest, guaranteed by the Constitution.

62. Sorry that people said that to you
Thats not right.

I felt horrible in 2000, and 2004. I felt bad when Edwards dropped out. I supported him as my #1 choice, then Hillary then Obama, in order of preference, despite my disgust with Hillary's IWR vote, I supported her, because I thought she had the best chance. I have empathy for the loss you all are feeling, her loyal supporters, I know how you feel. However I'm not very sympathetic, since I turned around and went to the next candidate on my list once Edwards dropped out. Then a lot of stuff happened that made me reconsider Obama.

Please stick around and support the nominee! Who knows who will be VP? I look forward to more unifying speeches from Hillary. She made me stand up and clap when she spoke the words "yes we can." Much was forgiven, and some was forgotten in her strongest symbolic act of unity to date. I know it was hard for her.

If you can't support the nominee then fare thee well, its not personal, its just a private websites terms of service.

:hi:

65. The ticket would:
-Lack real executive experience. When was the last successful senator-senator ticket? I know when the last unsucessful one was, and so do you, because it happened in the last election. There's a reason why governors are voted disproportionately as President. McCain would surely just choose a governor for V.P. and hold press conferences laughing at the lack of executive experience on the ticket.

-Accumulate their negatives. This has been mentioned by political heavyweights from Jimmy Carter to Ed Rendell, so hard to claim a Hillary bias on this argument.

-Questionable foreign policy credentials. Especially important since this is what the Republicans will be trying to force to the forefront this election and Bush's current apparent plan to attack Iran won't help either. Governor Sebelius is one of my favorites for V.P., yet it's clear that this reason will definitely hurt her chances as well.

-Which state will she bring along? The answer isn't clear. Perhaps you could argue a wide appeal, but if you're selecting a V.P. based solely on geographical electability, there are better choices from various swing states.

-"Will Obama cave in to demands from Ahmadinejad like he did to Hillary Clinton? If he can't stand up to Hillary, how can we trust him to stand up to America's interests in the Middle East?" I guarantee that commercial is already in the pipeline just in case he does choose Hillary. Hillary and her surrogates have hurt her V.P. chances by overplaying their hand. They're making it so that he looks weak and caved into pressure if he chooses her now. Bubba should have thought about this beforehand.

That's enough reasons for now. I could easily come up with a lot more. I haven't even touched her debt-ridden primary campaign. A debt that Obama might be wise not to assume.

All of my excitement about his campaign, message, and presidency would pretty much evaporate.

But I'm old enough to see past my own ego and to actually do what's right for America and the Planet.

I'm not going to lay in a puddle of my own tears and curse the world like a 3 year old on a temper tantrum while the Pukes work towards apocalypse.

74. I'll seriously be questioning Obama's commitment to change.
And his good judgment.

I'll vote for it but my expectations will be lowered by a few degrees and they weren't all that high to begin with.

75. Not sure
I'm torn on that one. I'd have voted for either one of them at the top of the ticket assuming they won clean rather than swift boating their way into it but these two had such a hostile primary and seemed to respect each other so little that I don't think it would be a good idea. He's got his own plans and she shows little interest in taking a back seat to or stopping for anyone once she decides to do something so what I'd really expect of the ticket is four years of internal conflicts, power struggles, not so well hidden arguments and comments from either "camp". All of that probably followed by another repub administration since the public would quickly tire of the drama and want a change from us again.

What's the real choice there? Vote them in and we might get a Supreme Court seat or two which would be great but we'd also hand the repubs the office in just a few years and set ourselves back at least 8 to 12 years before we had another chance at real change in the nation. Stay home and lose and we might lose a court seat or two but we'd have just four years until we could try real change again instead of having to wait another 8 or 12. We're screwed either way, I really don't want to see her on the ticket. Her alone and winning clean, fine. Him with almost anyone else, fine. The two of them together? We're asking for trouble.

76. I think that if it were going to happen they'd have announced something by now.

78. I don't vote in American elections, so "other".
I think it would be a mistake for Obama to pick Clinton as a running mate - she'd bring out too many voters for McCain - but if I were allowed to I'd have no problems voting for him whether or not he did - I think Clinton would make an excellent VP, just a lousy candidate.

79. I'm closest to option 2
It's not that I hate the ticket but I would have some deep concerns about it.

That said, I'm not allowed to vote in your elections (being British).
