If I gave Obama $$ now (or in the past) but did not reach my limit, would that money be transferable to the GE?
Or specifically, How is are the nomination donations separated fro the GE donations?

2. I don't mind doing that |
|
I just want to give when the need is the greatest.
If by doing so now, Obama has it in the bank and can spend it any time from here to November, then great. Otherwise I am tempoted to save it until August or September.

4. From what I understand |
|
candidates can roll primary funds into the GE fund (but not vice versa).

6. your donation counts towards your 2300 primary limit. After the convention you can give another 2300 |
|
if you have any more money that you want to give but are over your limit, donate in your dog's name (ie Sparky Smith).

8. I do know that anything you donate above 2300 during the primary rolls over |
|
I never kept track of what I donated.... I just put it on the credit cards and don't bother to read them when they come in (I know that's bad....), I just pay it off.... I really should have looked at them, but that's entirely another subject....

9. Thanks for asking that question! |
|
I had the exact same question myself. Good to know that those funds can roll over. I was hesitating too and wound up giving some cashola to our (hopefully) next Dem Governor Jay Nixon here in Missouri. I'll have to start my giving again to Barack and spreading it out.

10. From Barack's website: |
|
An individual may contribute a maximum of $2,300 per election (the primary and general are separate elections).
By submitting your contribution, you agree that the first $2,300 is designated for the primary, and any additional amount up to $2,300 is designated for the general election.

I may have to wait, and giove it all in a lump sum. I don;t see the point in contributing to the primary phase at this point.
