1. From Rasmussen's site:
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Barack Obama attracts 46% of the vote while John McCain earns 41%. Those figures reflect a slight decline for Obama who had attracted 48% support for each of the preceding three days. For McCain, the results are little changed. For the past week, his support has stayed between 40% and 42% (see recent daily results).

When “leaners” are included, Obama holds a five point advantage, 49% to 44% Thirty-six percent (36%) of voters say they will not change their mind and are certain to vote for Obama on Election Day. Thirty-three percent (33%) say the same about McCain. Tracking polls are updated at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time each day. Premium Members can review crosstabs for the last full-week of polling. Recent demographic notes are available on the public site.

Sixty-one percent (61%) of voters say that the candidate’s wives are at least somewhat important in determining their vote. Forty-nine percent (49%) currently have a favorable opinion of Cindy McCain while 48% have a favorable opinion of Michelle Obama.

-snip-

Obama is now viewed favorably by 56% of voters nationwide and unfavorably by 42%. The numbers for McCain are 55% favorable and 42% unfavorable. Opinions are held more strongly about Obama--33% have a Very Favorable opinion of the Democratic hopeful while 27% hold a Very Unfavorable opinion. For McCain, those numbers are 18% Very Favorable and 18% Very Unfavorable. As with the topline numbers, these ratings reflect a slight softening for Obama and little change for McCain (see recent daily favorables).

2. way to much info from a daily tracking poll
I'm afraid people are going to obsess about every daily tweak up or down. We should only be looking at the big picture - changes over a reasonable time period (say every 2-4 weeks)

3. That will be easier to do from these graphs as time passes
Right now, daily changes stand out starkly. The picture will be clearer as that effect goes away. That's what happened when I graphed the primary numbers.
