Please, Senator Obama, when you take office, please gut FEMA.
Fire every last Bush appointee and those that the appointees hired. Please. FEMA needs to help U.S. citizens in time of need, instead of being the malignant organization it seems to have become.

10. It was a mess under GHWB, same patronage problems. Clinton fixed it.
Built into a first-class organization.

"W" broke it again, even worse than his old man did.

There's a pattern here.

9. Good ideas, but dream on!
Homeland Security is going to be an appointee dumping ground for years to come.

It's a gravy train for wonks, desk jockeys and hacks of all types. Lots of favors are paid off with these jobs.
