The more I think about it, the more I believe we couldn't have a better person to run against.
Think about it: on the issues, John McCain is in lock-step with George W. Bush, the least popular president in 60 years.

And yet, he lacks the three things that made Bush dangerous as a candidate 8 years ago. Enthusiasm from the religious right. The "cowboy" style that many Americans fell for. And the image of a Washington outsider.

McCain combines all of Bush's negatives with none of his relative strengths. He's superglued to Bush's policies, including and most of all the war. And he himself admitted he has no idea about how the economy works.

In short, the only way you could design a more perfect Republican candidate for our purposes is if there was a photo of him making out with Bush.

5. It's hard to believe, but you are right about that. Imagine - someone worse than Bush?!
But McCain has a certain tone of voice he goes into that actually makes me feel like I just ate bad eggs.
