FORGET IMPEACHMENT - whatever happened to the HEARINGS we were promised?
Edited on Wed Jun-11-08 06:48 PM by Zhade
You know, the ones people here kept hanging their hopes on, after which impeachment was bound to happen (as it should, given the scope of this administration's undeniable crimes)?

Does anyone know? I certainly haven't heard much aside from the courageous attempts by Kucinich and his cosponsors who aren't willing to let criminals walk.

Fill me in, DU - tell me accountability isn't as dead as I fear it is.

(Edited to fix the '/; problem I keep having with keyboards!)

2. Well, turns out they need witnesses to actually show up for those
and apparently, subpoenaed witnesses get to choose whether to show up. Who knew?

6. And that's the subject of Article 27 -
"Failing to comply with Congressional subpoenas and instructing former employees not to comply."

10. He did say that, I think he has until the 20th, though.
Then, they may charge him with inherent contempt. They really want rover, and I think they may go after him for real.

13. Shockingly, when the witnesses refuse to show up, when the White House refuses o
surrender documents, when the RNC destroys any evidence that evidence existed, and when the Justice department is stacked with Bushies, it can be slightly difficult to hold hearings.
