3. But...wasn't Bush supposed to have protected us from another attack? |
|
That whole Department of Homeland Security thing. How he was far better suited to protect us than Kerry and the Democrats? That was the whole fucking theme of his 2004 campaign.

Question is: Will talking about it extensively deter it?
We can only hope so. But with these criminals, they have no problem with blatantly pulling all kinds of illegal & horrifying stunts to get what they want.
Don't forget.....Desperate people do desperate things.

While I don't think it's true necessarily, I also don't think that anybody in the world really wants mcsame as prez. Middle Easterners know that mchundred would be a mistake.

...because that would SO prove the whole republican "We were right to fight them over there so we wouldn't get attacked at home. We've made us all safer!!!" talking point.
Obama would knock their teeth in with it if they tried using an attack as an argument to vote McCain.

If we are attacked that means the GOP has utterly failed to protect us. After all they keep using that argument that their hasn't been another attack so if their were then they win either way? Doesn't make sense. But then it is Tweety....

15. I've Always Wondered Why... |
|
a certain point was never made vociferously. That point, especially if this sort of catastrophe happens again, is, "this happened not once, but TWICE on YOUR WATCH, party of safety - how in the hell are you the ones who keep us safe again?!" I never thought Rice and the ilk ever took enough heat for us being caught with our pants down on that day in 2001. She didn't do her job, Dubya sat there with his thumb in his ass for seven minutes after being told we were under attack, and all of that was never overtly raised, even to rebut the whole bullshit meme of "we're keeping the terrorists away from you" BS. Honestly, if the voting public runs to the party who was in control during two domestic attacks for protection, then we are truly fucked as a society.

has failed a second time to protect the american people. Another attack after Bush who McCain is in lock step with has spent a trillion dollars to fight his so called war on terror, will only prove Obama right in his aurgument about being on the wrong battlefield. Chris Matthews is dumbass

|
once it becomes obvious who would benefit the most from the terrorist attacks. Is this being designed like it was gonna be an Operation Northwoods? You really have to start being suspicious about these things. Bush has gotten a free ride from all this so far.

...I've gotta fly a couple of times close to the election. I'm flying - without my Girlfriend and young Son - and now I'm going to have my already nervous disposition hammered by these idiots. So yeah: I'm a bad flyer as it is, now I can just picture hearing about all sorts of possibilities over the coming months as right-wing pundits salivate over the prospect of an attack handing McCain a victory for...umm...err...being a part of the administration which has failed not just America in terms of security but THE WORLD.
Ugh. I hate this kind of talk, it's irresponsible and misguided, it serves only to make people jittery...That it is still wheeled out by these media people is fucking pathetic.

|
...and then said Clinton had it clinched when Edwards dropped out.
...and then said Clinton had it made when the Rev Wright stuff came out.
...and the same media that said Giuliani was the GOP front-runner in December.
The media doesn't have a clue how ANYTHING will play with this electorate.

Another attack of any size would just underscore Republican incompetence and illustrate the lie about "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here."

28. I don't see why an attack would kneejerk elect McSame. |
|
I don't see why an attack would kneejerk elect McSame. Surely, the Republicans have completely and utterly demonstrated that they must proceed into the wilderness and cannot pass go under ANY circumstances. They have shunned and made little of the Constitution and have defrauded the American people in about every possible way.
Anybody with sense will trust almost none of these Republicans including and especially McSame for selling out what little piece of his soul and love for freedom he had left just to get to run.
These people have completely sold America out, as a nation and an idea. You don't give the rats control when it hits the fan because that's when they do their worst damage.
If you vote Republican due to an attack you also probably think O'Reilly and Rush host news broadcasts. Otherwise, you're supposed to have enough sense to know that the neocons are possibly the #1 threat to our way of life.
Though, our own stupidity and ignorance may be the winner, most of our citizens allowed themselves to believe we had to go to war with a country that we had an aircap on. Only later did we figure out we were on a madman's mission to win political aims with military resources. Freaking gun barrel democracy! We'll just randomly assemble what ever zealots, nut jobs, and gang bosses that hated Saddam and then just blast on whoever is being most disruptive for some undetermined period of time until the seed of takes hold, grows, and blossoms.

They said that a national security crisis would tilt in McCain's favor since voters tend to go to the right more when something like that happens. Not the same as saying that McCain would win.
