Do you know any women that will be voting for McCain?
i don't so far, my sister was a big Hillary Clinton fan, she's not voting for McCain, my 2 wingnut sil's both do not like McCain at all, both voting for Obama, both voted for Bush last 2 times---don't ask. My 3 best friends, 2 politically active, one not are all voting for Obama and my step mother is also voting for him.

1. I'll check with my conservative sister this weekend.
And she'll probably vote for him, regardless of what I have to say. Whenever I raise an issue, her response tends to be, "How do you have any time to pay attention to any of these things?"

But as far as the women I interact with on a daily basis, all of them have been for Obama since Day 1.

2. There is almost an entire department of anti-Obama/Republican women where I work
Edited on Wed Jun-11-08 09:51 PM by Pushed To The Left
When I went over to their department the other day to make some copies, they enthusiastically gave me a Thomas Sowell hit piece on Obama that one of their husbands had given her to give to me. This was the day before Hillary Clinton officially endorsed Obama. My first thought (which I told my boss when I came back to my department) was "They are giving me articles again..They must be worried!".

8. The ones I was talking about are actually pretty nice, but their politics appear to be right-wing
They are mostly senior citizens, so it could be a generational thing too. The husband has sent articles before, and it seems to always happen when Obama's got some momentum.

40. Hopefully they will spend
as much time checking out Senator McCain, talking to his supporters, reading up on his positions as they did with Hillary. It's hard to imagine that anyone who supported Hillary would vote for McCain if they have spent any time at all checking into his positions on the issues.

My parents live in northern Arizona. They retired white people and all their friends are enthusiastic about McCain. He's their kind of guy. There's really no arguing with them.

just sent her over the edge. She lives an Amelia island florida in a community with a lot of retired military folks, i'd love to ask her about her neighbors.

I had thought they would back McCain, but that was before he voted against the GI bill.

16. No. I don't know anyone who admits to supporting McCain.
I think that there might be one person in my office of several hundred who will vote for McCain, but she's an extreme fundamentalist right-winger who believes that global warming is a liberal myth. She never votes for any Democrat ever.

In contrast, another coworker - a lifelong Republican - voted for Obama in the primary and plans to vote for him in the GE. She's an older white woman. She thinks that Obama is wonderful.

She thinks McCain looks crazy, but really likes his life story. She would never vote for a Clinton but has come to a "grudging respect" for Hillary's toughness and energy. She would never vote for Obama. She'll vote for McCain.

I don't know anyone who is admittedly voting for McBush. Of course I work from home now so I don't have to mix with pukes if I don't want to... And I don't.

Oh wait, I'm sure my neighbor will. They're fundies. Why even bother

32. IMHO, most women voting for McCain don't know his stand on abortion,
healthcare and equal pay for women. He's gone way off the deep end on abortion, wanting to ban it even for rape, incest or life of the mother. He's vetoed SCHIP for kids and his no plan healthcare plan will probably increase the rolls of the uninsured by 150 million people. As for equality in the workplace for women, he's more of a Stepford Wife kind of guy.
