Republicans eyes Michelle Obama as their next plan of attack!
As spineless as that sounds, the republicans are going to start intensifying their attacks on Michelle.

One thing that I have come to understand about the republican party is they are afraid of a strong woman. I felt this way when Hillary was the First Lady. They constantly attacked her because she was a strong woman with plans and ideas, while she occupied the White House.

They would much rather have someone like Laura Bush, who just pretty much smile, take up space, and where hideous wool outfits!

Being raised the way she was, Michelle Obama is a tough person! Not only is she tough, but she is smart too! Plus, throughout history, a prominent black male leader has alway had a strong black woman by his side. Martin Luther King had Corretta Scott King, Medgar Evers had Myrlie Evers, and Malcom X had Betty Shabazz! If one would ask any of these men who was their rocks, they all would tell you their wives. Barack would say the same thing about Michelle.

Although I believe it wouldn't be right for them to attack Michelle, they will do it any. But, I believe she can handle it in a very professional and dignified way.

<<snip>>
Cindy McCain, the wife of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, also took a shot at Michelle Obama, saying: "I am proud of my country. I don't know about you, if you heard those words earlier. I am very proud of my country."

1. I think it's going to back fire on them.
They remember how they could go after Hillary and get away with it. That sort of worked because Hillary was politically very active, and the repukes had much better control of all media outlets. The left has caught up a bit, on the media control, thanks to the internet. Michelle, is not really all that politically active, so independents are going to see a bunch of white rightwing scumbag males attacking a black woman (who doesn't deserve it). Plus Obama is not going to stand for it, he will stand up for her, and further strengthen people's admiration for him.

3. That shows how desperate they are for attack material
they haven't got anything on Obama besides verbal gaffes he might make when he's speaking. This tactic can and will backfire on them and Obama will see to it that it does. Michelle is a popular figure and many will come to her defense.

4. They (Repubs) will regret going down this road. Not everyone is aware
that Cindy is a felon, stealing drugs, dipping into charities to finance her addiction, etc. John got her out of it and had it hushed up. Not a good idea for them.

But, they want to sweep facts about Cindy under the rug!

9. Woo Hoo!!
For two reasons...

1) Michelle can take and deliver a punch. She at least twice as tough as Joe Lieberman.

2) This is going to backfire something awful. Every disgrutled HRC voter will be back in the Democratic fold by Labor Day.

The Hillary supporters on the fence will be mobilized but the big issue is opening Cindy up for review! Being addicted to drugs with young kids then funneling drugs from charity to support her own habit is not a good thing to get the Evangelical Base out. It is a double loser!

13. Attacking a woman when McCain begins his "women's tour"?
Their desperation is causing them to make extremely poor choices during this campaign. How disgusting will it be to witness a group of white men attack an African American woman who has done nothing to them and is also the mother of two small girls? They're losing what little of their minds they have left.

15. Cindy: "I am proud of my country. I am very proud"
Of course you are dear. You haven't had to work for shit and you didn't go to jail for stealing prescription narcotics and then blaming somebody else as would have happened to anybody else. What's not to love.

19. They are. They always do. I think it's a mistake not to take aim at Cindy, too.
We do this every time. We let them shit all over the nominee's wife, and we don't attack the wife of the GOP nominee. So a killer like Laura Bush gets a pass, while our candidate's spouse gets run through the ringer.

Cindy is very vulnerable. She's a rich girl who stole another woman's husband, who stole drugs from a children's charity, who wallows in BEER wealth, when alcohol abuse is the worst health and social problem in America.

23. Last time I checked Michelle Obama was not the one who was almost prosecuted for drug theft
I am not one for dragging families into this sort of thing generally, but if the GOP is going to take this tack they might want to consider that they have at best some random statements (that signify nothing) they can dig up on Michelle and distort. And even with their distortions, they don't amount to anything.

However Cindy McCain was actually almost prosecuted for drug theft from her own charity and was also peripherally involved in the Keating 5 scandal.
http://www.azcentral.com/news/specials/mccain/articles/0301mccainbio-chapter8.html

Know that thing they say about glass houses and all Cindy? You might want to keep that in mind :eyes:.

Cindy blamed two back surgeries and the Keating Five scandal - a blend of physical and emotional pain - for hooking her on drugs.

Things started to unravel when a Drug Enforcement Administration audit found irregularities in the charity's records, prompting an investigation, Cindy told the reporters.

In 1992, as the Keating affair surfaced again during McCain's run for a second Senate term, Cindy's parents confronted her about her drug use.

What had been clear to Cindy's parents was lost on McCain, who said he had not noticed his wife's addiction.

"I was stunned," McCain said at the time. "Naturally, I felt enormous sadness for Cindy and a certain sense of guilt that I hadn't detected it. I feel very sorry for what she went through, but I'm very proud she was able to come out of it. For her, it was like the Keating affair had been for me, a searing experience, and we both came out stronger. I think it has strengthened our marriage and our overall relationship."

The late Phoenix Gazette political columnist John Kolbe helped break the story.

His Aug. 25, 1994, column was headlined and led with a powerful quote:

"I'm Cindy, and I'm an addict."

winks and move on with the McCains. It's the way our "ministry of propaganda" works here.
