WSJ's Henninger: McCain is a don't-drill zombie
Just a coda to a foaming at the mouth demand to a moronic op-ed "drill, drill, drill."

1. Funny that he uses Brazil & Venezuela as comparisons
why don't we nationalize our oil industry like them, and we can ensure we don't exploit our national resources for profit?

Edited on Thu Jun-12-08 12:36 PM by patrice
wouldn't have had anyway if we weren't supporting Socialism for Big Oil et al?

Would being a "serious country" make my job more secure? Will it result in any of the other economic securities I need, such as: health care, appropriate and complete education, sane and financially responsible national defense, annual raises at or better than cost of living . . . . ? Oil men are Capitalists. Well so am I! I want something of REAL value for my physical investments, body, intelligence, and energy, and MONEY AIN'T IT!!!!!

FUCK being a serious country!!! - especially FUCK being a serious country until we really ARE "serious" by demonstrating some notion of energy responsibility, i.e. conservation in its many, many, many forms.

4. And, what is wrong with having unspoiled beaches and national parks?
Why does everything have to come at the expense of quality of life?

5. Thank You! Yes!!! These things ARE their own Value.
I worry that some people don't want to drill just to drive the price up AND to protect reserves for more WARS (since the Military is the biggest fossil fuel user of all).
