1. I want to see McCain drop below 200
That would bring great joy to my life, and with Barr on the ballot, it just might happen.

5. We must win OH & PA: 249-289
and can afford to lose MO, CO, NC & VA

if we lose OH or PA, we have to win 2 of the others.

I believe Obama can switch Florida, Indiana and Montana, but I'll be nice and give them to McCain. :)

If the election were a landslide for Obama, this is how I think the map will look.

19. Just out of curiosity, why ND?
I've seen ND going blue in a couple of places now, but for the life of me I can't figure out why. Mind sharing your reasoning?

22. SurveyUSA had him ahead
According to pollster there are only 2 polls out for North Dakota. The first one is SurveyUSA which has him up by 4 with 12 undecided. The second one is Dakota Wesleyan which has him down by 4 with 12 undecided.

Basically its a tie from the data we have out now.

With his strong performance in the North Dakota caucus and his organization in small states, I think he can pull out a victory if he gets enough people out to the polls. He tends to perform well in western states. This is of course in a hypothetical landslide scenario.

I actually predict Obama 420, McCain 50 because of Nebraska's split #'s.

27. Exactly. I always tell people states don't vote in isolation. If you win a +40% Republican state
you have already won every +10 or +20% Republican state too.

Unfortunately, I can't help but believe that the damage from the primary nonsense in MI & Florida will prove to be irreparable in this election cycle, so I have both those states going red.

33. It goes to the House of Representatives & Senate
The Twelfth Amendment covers this: The House of Representatives would choose the President, and the Senate would choose the Vice President. The vote would be somewhat unusual in that the votes would be cast and counted by state delegations, not individual members - meaning that tiny states like Wyoming would get as much weight in the Presidential vote as California, Texas, and New York.

McCain is in deep trouble.

I even think this is possible given the strength of our voter registration drives:

http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-votemap,0,2338623.htmlstory?usergen=11111001011111101111111011111011001100100101000

it's ours if we really want it.
