We have to influence the dialogue as much as we possibly can, especially as pertains to Civil Rights!

Please go here and DU the poll about the Guantanamo Ruling -

1. Internet polls are never accurate, so who cares?

Shit, if they were accurate, Mike Gravel would be running against Ron Paul, and they'd both be courting Scooby Doo as their VP candidates.

2. Yes but they use them to control the narrative
Why bother posting on the internet for that matter? Every little comment helps control the overall dialogue.

3. I post on the internet because it pleases me to do so.
I don't confuse that with actual "activism", however.

Listen, I'm sorry I pissed on your thread - I just don't see the point in loading a stupid internet poll. I'll just back away quietly now.

4. Well I don't think it is actual "activism" but it does make a difference sometimes
If nothing else it's built a community structure that keeps real news out there. It has donated millions of dollars to the Dems this year. There are bloggers now in the MSM because the media have to pay attention to this segment now.

And when that little internet poll is posted it will control what is said next, so it does make a difference, even if just for a couple of seconds it changes the narrative. And the narrative changes minds. so maybe it's a pebble in a stream, but it does make little ripples.
