McCain In His Own Words - Own Worst Enemy
The funny thing is that as the general election has begun, the MSM is being even more docile than usual, and not asking John McCain to explain his flip flops to the general electorate. The mainsteam media, of course, happily repeats charges and rumors regarding Barack Obama. Well, here are some nice snippers of John McCain often undermining . . .John McCain, which are suddenly rare to find in the mainstream media:

4. One thing to add on the Town Halls - McCain Wants 10 Townhall Meetings...
Given McCain's numerous flips flops, since Obama is offering 5 debates, couldn't McCain handle the remaining five debates on his own? Just have John McCain versus John McCain.

5. Another link laden message for new forum on McCain vs McCain.
Someone earlier suggested a new forum for these links to John Sidney McCain III contradicting himself and such. This would be great there.

7. Here's another one
McCain on Gooks:

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/opinion/hongop.shtml

On his campaign bus recently, Sen. John McCain told reporters, "I hated the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live." Although McCain said he was referring only to his prison guards, there are many reasons why his use of the word "gook" is offensive and alarming.

It is offensive because by using a racial epithet that has historically been used to demean all Asians to describe his captors, McCain failed to make a distinction between his torturers and an entire racial group.

It is alarming because a major candidate for president publicly used a racial epithet, refused to apologize for doing so and remains a legitimate contender.

Contrary to McCain's attempt to narrowly define "gook" to mean only his "sadistic" captors, this term has historically been used to describe all Asians. McCain said that "gook" was the most "polite" term he could find to describe his captors, but because it is simply a pejorative term for Asians, he insulted his captors simply by calling them "Asians" -- a clearly disturbing message. To the Asian American community, the term is akin to the racist word "nigger." A friend of mine, a white male Vietnam veteran, pointed out that veterans, especially Vietnam veterans, know how spiteful the term "gook" is. It has everything to do with labeling someone as "other," the enemy and yellow. McCain sent the message that all Asians are foreigners and remain forever the "other" and the enemy.

him where he is supposedly "snapping," "losing his temper," or "losing his cool" do not look at all out of line to me.

I don't doubt that he explodes often and in ugly ways, but if those videos are the best evidence we have of such explosions, then I say lsoe them and stick with the many well-sourced accounts we have of his losing his temper with colleagues andor calling his wife a "trollop" and a "c**t."

13. Are You Kidding? The GOP Has Created Scandals With Far Less
What do you want? A picture of McCain taking a swing at someone? I think his reaction to the NY Times reporter was out of line. She was asking him a question, and not going O'Reilly on him, and he was getting very bent out of shape. "You know it! You do know it!" Plus, listen to the question, it's not like they were asking something about his first marriage, it was about John Kerry asking him to be his vice-president. Not sure why its relevant, but the question was hardly out of bounds. Also, consider this video with a little more context where he was confronted with an earlier quote:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVM8Dhk5w6s

Also, did I say "those videos are the best evidence we have of such explosions"? I don't understand why you believe it is necessary to apologize on behalf of John McCain or suggest that "those videos are the best evidence we have of such explosions." Yes, there are many well sourced accounts of McCain's willingness to cuss out colleagues, but he is not stupid. I am sure that he understands the need to at least refrain from dropping F-Bombs on camera.
