First I want to say that the site Obama is putting up to combat smears is a great idea. That said, I get these stinking RW mails every day, even from people who claim to be liberal. OK, is there NO way at all to stop them? I mean, I'm guessing that the campaign can't find the originators of the mails or waste their time suing them if they did but I would love SOME kind of action. Second, why are there no democratic viral mails? These things get around the web like gangbusters. I don't understand why we don't fight fire with fire. Please don't tell me it's because we're nicer. There must be some REAL reason. Thanks.

1. need to have an answer email and send it to all the recipients |

I've done this a couple of times, when a friend shared one of them with me. I sent him the response, and then I cc'd it to all the others. AND I called out the original clown that sent it.

2. Yes, we need to fight fire with fire this election |
|
These same emails attacking Kerry and Edwards with lies and distortions were all over the place in 2004, and many people's first impression of Kerry as a traitor, coward or flip-flopper. This shit will continue even more this year, and we need to have our own TRUTHFUL emails.
I tried to bring up a couple of other fight-fire-with-fire strategies here, like singing Barr's praises to conservatives at right wing websites, but didn't get much support.
I think I will try to write a few emails that could be forwarded around. Something needs to be done.
