So Who Will Take Over 'Meet The Press' Now?
I imagine Tweety, "Howdy Doody" Gregory & "Scoop" Mitchell are climbing over each other. Sunday mornings are really going to suck now.

1. None of them will be worth watching.
MTP will never be the same.

I imagine they'll take turns for a while, just to get by.

Tragic.

16. I Imagine This Sunday Will Be A Special About Russell...
But MTP is THE Sunday news magazine that people pay attention to,so it is kind of a big deal who replaces him. There aren't many "unbiased" pundits out there.

Just consider the options --- Gregory, Tweety, KO? Fuck. This is sad.

13. I do not think KO will be offered, and I'd rather him concentrate on Countdown
KO has become something of a celebrity for Countdown so I do not see NBC picking him for MTP. I think Matthews is the frontrunner.

28. I hope that KO gets to fill in just once in the coming weeks
He can be quite serious and I think he'd do a job that would honor Russert's memory. He obviously has great respect for him and I think he would give it the gravitas we know KO can deliver.

I was no fan of Russert's by any stretch of the imagination, but it's only been a few hours since he died.

Speculation in our heads is one thing, but open figuring on his replacement is just kind of ghoulish this early in the game.

Just my opinion. :(

I'm kidding... but... unfortunately we all know it's not going to be anyone who will rustle the feathers of GE and Microsoft.

I feel very badly for Tim Russert and his tragic, sudden death. I only hope for the best and offer my condolences for his family and many friends in this ordeal. He somehow feels like a brother to me. Meet The Press on Sundays was when I would time my cooking Sunday breakfast for my loved ones and myself to watch the show. It was like clockwork.

But we all seriously and honestly have to look at how so much of the mainstream media news punditry has actually betrayed the American People for so many years. Russert was better than most, but he certainly was not innocent of some of the sins of the Beltway message vortex.

Perhaps we should retire "Meet The Press". Let's start with something new and uncensored politically or offer more consensus on the issues. Let's make Edward R. Murrow proud. He's been pissed for years.
