Clinton Fundraisers Rally To Obama

As we first reported here, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe wooed top Clinton donors at a private presentation in Manhattan yesterday, and the early indications are that such efforts are paying off.

Top Hillary supporter Ed Rendell is hosting a fundraiser for Obama tonight in Philadelphia. My sense from talking to Hillary donors is that from their point of view, there's just no percentage in not getting behind Obama, and while there's definitely still a bit of grumbling in these circles, they're basically falling into line.

One thing driving this is that Obama, according to Rendell, is privately signaling to the leading Clinton fundraisers that it's urgent that the Dem fundraising establishment come together and raise huge sums to combat the McCain-GOP apparatus -- right now. And the fundraisers are heeding the call.

THANK YOU, SENATOR CLINTON!

1. I thought I was seeing stories over the last few days that they *weren't* moving fast to Obama?

3. There's an article around here that says that one of her larger bundlers...
(Rothschild)..I think is making noise like she may switch to McCain. But real Democrats are falling behind our nominee. I think Hillary's DLC ties was the big draw for these people. The article said she didn't know if Obama was "trustworthy", which I took to mean she's not sure he'll fall in line with the corporocrat wing of the party.

7. Good analysis Tarheel.

I can tell them he won't.

But, I thank those who are real Democrats..and that means helping our people and country above their selfish interests.

10. Exactly. I just finished watching Bill Moyers, and I knew things were bad,
but I didn't think we were so close to returning to the Gilded Age of the 1920's. People are hurting, and corporations and lobbyists should be shunned at all costs by President Elect Obama. I think we all agree that corporations are important because they employ us, but they should have no more influence over government than you or I, simply because they have deeper pockets.

4. NPR reported this morning that Obama is winning heavily among women in NJ
so much for the idea that Clinton's women voters wouldn't back Obama.

9. It's also important to donate to her campaign too. One thing we do know she campaigns strong.

The more she unifies the more this should be rewarded. Always email your appreciation too. Every little bit helps to get us over the finish line.
