Admit it.....

Watching the coverage on the first Tuesday in November won't be the same this year.

I was looking forward to something like the following coming from Tim Russert:

"We're now prepared to call the state of Colorado after many hours of 'too close to call'. Their nine electoral votes will go to Barack Obama, and that pushes him over 270 and he is now, officially, President-Elect Obama. What a historic night."

It won't be the same coming from David Gregory.

1. So it's going to come down to Colorado, eh?
Very well could be.

And you are absolutely right about Russert. I was thinking about what Sunday mornings will be like without Russert on MTP.

8. I know...it's one of those things that you just automatically look for
and yes, I disagreed many times with him too--many times--but wow, this is just stunning. I think what makes it so hard is that so many of us feel like we spent the last six months with him daily.

3. Think of the Schadenfreude of Brit Hume and others having to announce the win
They are gonna be chocking and spitting having to do that.

4. Election night just won't
be the same, that's for sure. :-( I remember Russert with his dry erase board in 2000, that was some night, sigh.

6. I'm looking forward to political coverage being not the same. That would be great.
It's been eight years of same-old, same-old and I would love for it to be different.

7. Aww, this post made me sad.
Nice tribute to him, though.
