Register For McCain's Townhall Designed To Woo Clinton Supporters!
Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 09:11 PM by slinkerwink
The Washington Post notes that John McCain is trying to woo Clinton supporters in a townhall teleconference tomorrow afternoon at 3:30PM.

Some of Clinton's campaign volunteers received an e-mail today informing them that McCain is holding a teleconference with the former presidential candidate's backers at 3:30 p.m., which they can register for by e-mailing teletownhall-at-johnmccain-dot-com. Those who can't participate by phone but want to submit a question can send it to MKforhillary-at-gmail-dot-com.

McCain himself will participate in the call, fielding questions from HRC fans, and some former Clinton backers will be allowed to attend the event in person. McCain's campaign confirmed the call, but did not say where the telephone town hall would be held.

Say.....why don't we register for the townhall teleconference so John McCain can be asked very TOUGH questions?

If you want this to become possible, feel free to recommend this thread!!!

EDIT: Let me know if you've e-mailed teletownhall-at-johnmccain-dot-com, and have gotten a response back to attend.

3. and don't tell them the question you really want to ask
Instead, when the person connects you to talk to McCain, she'll ask what you want to ask him. This is where you don't tell the truth about the real question. Keep this in mind.

4. B...b...but, we're not supposed to bring up the existence of these things.
I was chastised on another thread for "continuing a bad strategy" and "alienating Clinton supporters".

Nope, were just supposed to pretend that this is all GOP operatives and we should ignore it.

14. Too Obvious
he thinks it should be overturned. Although, many aren't aware of that, so not a bad question. No, I want to hear him answer this, but the questions are too long and complex:

You have said you will appoint justices like Antonin Scalia who do not believe there is an inherent right to privacy in the constitution. I understand this will mean Roe Vs. Wade would be overturned, which is something you support. However, Griswold vs. Connecticut, the landmark 1965 decision, was also based on privacy concerns and would also be threatened by such a court. If the Supreme Court determines there is no right to privacy in the constitution, what does that mean for the future of legalized birth control?

I would ask if he agreed with Scalia's dissent in the case of United States vs. Virginia. If he does, I would ask why he thinks government money should to to schools that discriminate. If he doesn't, I would ask what he sees as the future of women's rights if we have more justices like Scalia who see no problem with our tax dollars funding such discrimination.

Back in November when it was assumed Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic nominee, one of your supporters asked you "How do we beat the bitch?" You joined in the laughter and said that was a "good question." You say you respect Hillary Clinton, but do you really think referring to women opponents as "bitch" is acceptable political discourse?

You have said: "I will do everything in my power to continue the progress of equal opportunity for women in America." How will you do this? Women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man earns. Women are twenty percent more likely to live in poverty than men. Would you increase funding for Equal Opportunity Programs? Would you send a bill to Congress for Pay Equality? If not, how would you address the issue because the free market does not seem to be taking care of them.

16. Or how about this question...
Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 10:12 PM by Fridays Child
You voiced your opposition to the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, saying, last April, that it “opens us up to lawsuits." Define exactly what group of people the word "us" refers to. And please explain why a) it's okay with you that males are paid more than their equally-educated, trained, and experienced female counterparts for doing the same work, and b) protecting employers from lawsuits is more important to you than ensuring justice for the women they have harmed.

12. I have a question.
Senator McCain, what exactly was it that made you decide to dump your first wife? Was it:

A. Her gimpy leg
B. The fact that she'd gained 5 pounds after her car accident and was no longer model-thin
C. Cindy's millions
