3. His second book, which I read last year, changed the way I father my children

I think about the lessons in that book every time I interact with my kids.

5. My Sunday mornings won't be the same. I'll miss your style Tim Russert.
My all time favorite quote I will remember him by was the "I think we have a nominee..." after the Indiana & NC primaries. I never really paid much attention before on Sundays until recently during the primaries...I used to work weekend nights and never watched the Sunday news shows. I wasn't aware he supported the Bush administration & the Iraq war at first. He seemed about as unbiased in reporting as one could get, IMO. I respected that. He reminded me of the old-time reporters. I think he was a kind heart. I liked him because of that quality no matter what his personal opinions might've been. It is so sad that someone with such vigor and enthusiasm for the political process will never find out who became president! That in itself makes me want to cry.

God Bless his family. I send my condolences.

10. For all the nasty things spoken about his integrity, that man truly loved his job.
Through and through. Interview after interview.

He left us too soon, but he's a good man in a very good place now.

11. Sunday mornings will never be the same.
Since the early 90s, I've looked forward to Sunday mornings for Meet The Press because it was an hour of informative, quality television. Now there's an empty space, a loss of a welcome and familiar part of my weekly routine, seeing the same kind, smiling face every week. What a sad day!

My condolences to his family, NBC News and all those who knew him personally. He will be greatly missed!

13. Rest in Peace, Tim.
A man does't have to be perfect, or even liberal, to deserve some measure of acknowledgment for a distinguished career in journalism.

Chris Matthews reminded me of his David Duke interview.... man, that was a high point for sure.

16. St. Peter will welcome him - God bless him and his family - He will be missed by millions!
When he gets up there will he get the real scoop on things that were and are to be? He was a very religious man they are saying and also did a lot of charity appearances. He was very devoted to his family too I hear.

What more can one say about a man then he was there for his family and his faith and loved what he did for a living!

Healing and comforting energy to his family.

(I may believe that he was a NeoCon tool, but I don't celebrate his death. I celebrate life, and, as a matter of fact, he was darn good at being a propagandist! Today, in a perverse way, I honor that.)

27. Much too soon....
I'll always remember the night Obama clinched the primary. With a grin on his face, Russert said he would love to be a history teacher the next morning in an inner city school. One of his friends actually called him and was arranging for him to do that and talk politics to a classroom of middle school kids but sadly he died before that could be done.

28. what this has done for me
is humanize all the people we thought were soulless-like a Mary Matalin and James Carville-to see Mary on MTP this morning with the tissue in her palm having a hard time and to hear Brokaw almost lose it and Andrea Mitchell since this happened...you see hearts shining through once very tough exteriors-big hearts...I think this is the gift we are being given through this loss. You can send a message to the Russert family through the NBC MTP site-which I just did a few minutes ago.
