I want revenge
I want revenge on that pitiful little creep, Joe Lieberman. In fact, I'm getting slightly obsessive about it. I knoe Reid doesn't have the spine or whatever to do anything about Lieberman, but I'm betting Obama does when he becomes President Obama. And I think he'll have the clout to push Reid to actually strip Lieberman of his committee chairmanship and maybe some of his plum committee assignments. And Lieberman has plenty of those:

"In the 110th Congress, Lieberman is Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which is responsible for assuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Federal Government. In addition, he is a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee; Senate Armed Services Committee, where he is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Air Land Forces and sits on the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities; and the Small Business Committee."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Lieberman

It would be wonderful to see LIEberman forced out of the dem caucus.

I hope in particular, that one day a Louisiana gets the chance to fuck over CT people. Really hard.

EDIT: Let's not forget how he got there:

10. Nice charts
I hope Lieberman gets thrown out of the Dem Caucus on his ear after November. The Democrats should disown him.

38. Lieberman lied to them. He said he wanted the troops out of Iraq.
What a load of BULLSHIT.

He has as much integrity as Dick Cheney and George W. Bush.

2. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I want that miserable shitstain stripped of his chair and every single committee assignment. Then I want his office space switched to the dingiest corner they can find. Then I want his key to the Senate restroom confiscated so that he has to wander over to a construction site and beg to use a Porta-Potty. And I want the construction workers to refuse.

7. dangerous territory
any mention of Israel that doesn't support the status quo is lethal, semantically; but it's win win for fascism. They win because the insane cruelty used to crush an innocent people in the WW2 holocaust can legitimately be used to terrorise the Palestinians forever (and wage war on the arabs beyond that)
Lieberman is a war criminal, as bad as julius streicher, who'd be right at home at the Bushytail News network, and pals with joe...

4. He's out as long as we gain a solid majority in the Senate
which should be the case in November. Not out of the Senate, but I don't see any way he'll retain any committee chairs, or be accepted to caucus with the Dems. Then he can choose whether to finish his last term with an 'I' or 'R' behind his name.

8. you know better. how disappointing. YOU know damn fucking well that
Lieberman was assigned to Obama as a mentor by Senate leadership when Obama entered the Senate. It was a nut and bolts kind of mentorship, not one of political philosophy. And as I said you know that, and that makes your post disgustingly disingenuous. Surprise, surprise. Or not.

You changed your little spots. Not really. You're still trying to slime Obama with falshoods even as you claim to support him.

31. With the way that the Senate works, I don't know how possible it is.
IIRC the organizing resolution that dictates the composure of committees, chairmanships, ect, carries over to the next Congress unless changed.

A change to the resolution meant to punish Lieberman could be filibustered.

Seriously, you're taking your eyes off the goal. Man you station and quit jerking off. The game is the election and getting snarky about Lieberman, who the Dems are powerless to control.

He's not worth the effort.

44. God bless Joe Leiberman
I am pretty sure that I am one of the few remaining supporters of Joe here on DU.

He is actually pretty liberal, with the exception of his hawkish bullshit.

But he is not a green, or a liberal, or whatever left leaning non-dlc democrats want to call themselves (progressive :eyes: ).

He wants to protect America, protect the corporations that make America great, and is pretty much the epitome of a DLC dem.

I am very proud that he is part of our caucus.

It really shows where we are as a party.

I remember when he was Gore's veep. Remember the Joementum vs. Cheney debate? My God! The two parties are almost identical! Yet somehow "progressives" blame Nader for Gore's defeat :eyes:
