Community Outreach During the GE

Watching hundreds of millions get spent in Primary campaigns, I can't help but think of other stuff that money could do.

It would be nice, during the General Election, if Obama and McCain could agree to have a sponsored cause for each debate -- a local charity for the community they're visiting. Maybe let people from a local hospital or educational program ask some debate questions, flash their name on the screen for donations, and even a quick blurb about the cause before or after the debate. Just anything to use the campaign leviathan, and all the resources it uses, to help people out as it moves through their towns.

"More Than Just Words" would be a good theme for it. I think both candidates would benefit from it.
