5. Certainly. But I'd not link to the NY Post, either.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calgary_Herald

In December 2007, longtime Calgary Sun editor Licia Corbella joined the Herald as its Editorial Page Editor. Known for her far right-wing position, the Herald's editorial page has since swung heavily to the right with articles including those that have argued against increasing royalty rates in Alberta's oil & gas sector as well as denying climate change

16. I love this quote from Wiki:
"Trudeau led Canada through some of its most tumultuous times and was often the centre of controversy. Known for his flamboyance, he dated celebrities, sometimes wore sandals in the House of Commons, was accused of using an obscenity during debate there, and once did a pirouette behind the back of Queen Elizabeth II."

LOL!

13. I like this article much more....
Obama trounced McCain in landslide for Canadians' affections, poll suggests

OTTAWA — Democrat Barack Obama would crush Republican John McCain in the U.S. presidential race by an almost four-to-one margin - 56 per cent to 15 - if it were up to Canadians.

That's the conclusion of a new Canadian Press-Harris-Decima poll that, for the first time, gauges Canadian opinion on a head-to-head contest between the Republican candidate and the presumptive Democratic nominee.

snip

While some of that antipathy toward the incumbent Republican could explain Canadians' overwhelming support for the presumed Democratic nominee, Anderson says Canadians like Obama for other reasons.

snip

Obama has said his first priorities in office would be expanding public health care, ending the war in Iraq, and creating an integrated environmental-energy policy.

This article really tells how Canadians feel about Obama and why.

17. Canadians will always vote for the democratic over the republican candidate.
I really don't know how keyed up Canadians are about the race in the U.S.
With a few exceptions, I don't hear many people talking about it. Weird.

18. They preferred Obama over any of the other democratic candidates...
Edited on Sat Jun-14-08 12:24 PM by Spazito
running in the Primary as well so it is more than just supporting "the democratic over the republican candidate" as you espouse.

snip

The survey suggests Canadians of every age group, political stripe and gender prefer the rookie senator over his adversaries, Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee John McCain.

When asked which of the three candidates they liked most, respondents preferred Obama over McCain by an almost five-to-one margin - 39 per cent to eight per cent. Even among self-declared Conservatives, Obama had almost double McCain's support.

snip

That hypothetical landslide is in stark contrast to polls from the United States, which suggest a close presidential race.

And the results are despite Obama and Clinton's promise to renegotiate NAFTA, which is popular with Canadians and a key pillar of the national economy.

Your OP link was but one opinion, my post was to present another another point of view. I believe that constitutes staying on topic.
