1. There was an interview with him
last night via satellite. I think he's in Paris.

2. he is in Paris... gave a brief "eulogy" with KO last night.

Apparently, he and Tim were not that close.

3. I'm actually amazed that
people at MSNBC are able to pull it together and go on the air. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for Tom Brokaw to make that announcement.

5. he looked just numb when he made the announcement; i just wondered about Matthews because he's such
a staple over there at MSNBC and seemed to admire Russert so much, and they seem to be interviewing everyone and their brother, so I wondered where he was.

7. I was wondering about that myself.
It never really occurred to me before, but I had no idea how they would cover the death of a 24-hour news channel personality on a 24-hour news channel. I don't know what they would do if there was a fire at the firehouse either.

I couldn't believe that any of them were able to keep it together, to be honest. If someone I knew and worked with for years suddenly died on the job, I would go home.

8. It's like they're working through their collective grief on the air today
...with their continued special coverage and reminiscences from all and sundry.

One thing's for sure, any of us out here in the world would be mighty blessed to have such a system-wide outpouring of positive eulogies at our own passing. Timmeh was obviously well loved and respected by those around him.
