I so hope you're right but I don't give the electorate that much credit. Obama vs mccain seems like a no-brainer, but 2004 seemed like a no-brainer and look what we got. Being the realist/pessimist that I am, I'm just hoping 51% of us get it - and come out in the right states. :)

70. Think about it this way |
|
Cheney, who is acknowledged as the actual power behind the Alfred E. Newman look, act, and talk alike has something like an 11% approval rating.
All that remains is to make sure voters see McSame as being the Same as Cheney.
And that, IMO, is fairly easily done.

Off the top of my head. Put both pictures togther with dates and have a quick voice-over.
Even the GOP wants Obama to win.
This is all the GOP can do: Divide and conquer
The GOP does not know how to lead with love, see this example of how much hate it has
The GOP put this up to frighten its base into voting, do you want to be led by fearmongers for another four years?
Republicans: only motivations are fear and hate.
I'm sure you can come up with better ones.

31. That reminds me of when one of my coworkers was running for |
|
judge in Tx. He asked if I had heard his radio ad, and I said I had. He asked for a critique. I hesitated, because I thought it had a real problem, but he insisted that he really wanted to know! His ad opened with the name of his OPPONENT! In between, he did mention his attributes, but then again at the end, he again mentioned the name of his opponent! I told him that what I think you really want to do is cement YOUR NAME in the voters mind, and I think it's a big mistake to repeat her name in your ad. He gratiously accepted my criticism, and them graciously LOST the election too! THAT'S how I see that RNC ad! I understand TV ads pointing out your perceived failures of your opponent, but when you're talking about a print ad or online web site, you certainly should be promoting YOURSELF!

Seriously. Name ONE . . . and I mean ONE accomplishment the GOP can run on. ONE. Just ONE. Let's challenge even further, since limiting it to the past seven years is like shooting fish in a barrel. In the 20 years they were in power since 1980 . . . name ONE accomplishment that didn't eventually result in failure in the lives of normal people. Anybody . . .? Anybody?
Exactly.
They. Got. DIDDLY.
All smoke and mirrors. They brainwashed, through their hundreds of media channels, almost half of the American public into thinking Republicans "kept them safe", "lowered their taxes", "fought successfully against creeping socialism", "win the fight against terrorism".
What they really did was:
* Fooled them into thinking Presidents actually have something to DO with "keeping them safe", because most Americans are kind of lax on that little thing called "cause and effect" * Created a massive national debt, privatized the wealth, socialized the risk, played "kick the can" economics and got off scot-free while we're going to be left holding the bill. * Used American's ages-old fear and hatred of Communism/Socialism in 2008 (I mean . . . DUDE. Does anyone STILL buy into that whole "Red Menace" thing in 2008? DUDE. COME on. European, British, Canadian and Scandanavian socialistic systems don't seem to be too shabby. Read a damned book sometime) as a mask to shift all of the risk onto US. * Created an easy enemy, an eternal war and a personal MIC mint with YOUR tax money. Ain't no damned "War on Terror" being fought. Ain't even started. You've been HAD! Hoodwinked! Bamboozled! Led astray! Run Amok!
And like someone else on here once said, they have nothing but one strategy: "Better the Devil You Know Than the Devil Unseen".
On paper, it looks like a mismatch.
Yet, so did 2000 and 2004.
And America is STILL one of the least progressive nations when it comes to race/gender relations.
America needs to wake up, wise up, and more importantly . . . GROW up.
If we choose poorly, our time is as good as up.

No, wait don't tell me. One is positive Barack and the other is Barack negative. But he looks good on both of them. :D
How lame is the GOP site. They can say nothing positive about mccain that can't be disproved, so their whole site is an attack on Barack. That is just sad....no, that is just desperate.....no, that is just ignorant. I guess they figure if they can't do negative ads on tv they will do them on their web site. Of course somewhere carl rove is sitting there yelling at us. "Made you look! Made you look!"

They are never FOR anything, always against. To be honest it was one of the reasons I didn't want Clinton as our nominee, they've done such a good job conditioning their base....they'd turn out in huge number to vote against her. That 15+ year long smear campaign would've paid off in a big way. Now, with Obama, they more or less have to start from scratch.
Losers.
