I know Luke will be sad since his dad will no longer be around |
|
However, I watched a few shows with Tim Russert today. He loved his son so much. His son knows how much his father loved him. He seems to have told/shown him that many times over the years. He just beamed when talking about his son. In an interview that aired today Tim Russert was describing that he had told his son that he did not want him to get a tattoo. Then he said one day his wife saw there son without his shirt and noticed that he had a tattoo. She told Tim and he said he yelled for his son to come in the room. He started out by saying that he thought they had said they would talk about it before he decided to do it. Then he asked to see the tattoo. At first his son said no. Then he insisted that he let him see it. Finally he raised is arm and he realized that Luke had a tattoo with TJR. It was his initials and Big Russ' initials. He was taken aback and then Luke said he wanted that tattoo so that Tim Russert and Big Russ were always on his side! He said he just bawled after that. There was soooooooooooo much love in that family. Luke had to know how much he was loved. I'm sure he is sad that his dad will not be around to see him get married or to see his kids. However, his dad has left him knowing how much he was loved and that his dad would have done anything to be with him. It makes me sad that Tim Russert is no longer here but I'm so happy that all of his family knows how much they are loved...........

2. My dad was a poor farm boy |
|
became a Marine in 1939 and was on Corrigedor when it was overrun. He raised six kids, all (he says proudly) more sucessful than him. Who is writing the book about him? Im sorry for the family and those that loved him, but I could give a shit. He was a Bush bot, and helped sell the war (why else did Cheney shop the Joe Wilson story to him) and why else would Mary Matalin say "meet the press is our best promotional vehicle" enuff said. Enough Tears, check back when Walter Cronkite dies.

4. So, why did you respond here, then? |
|
Besides, it's not irrelevant to discuss the positive benefits of fathers being present in the lives of their children.

10. Do it really bother you that much? Is it the argument that if people talk about ANYTHING that |
|
doesn't fit YOUR agenda, that people are just going to forget about things that matter to you? Do you try to play this big bad hard ass in order to earn some e-cred or something?

3. My nut-case ex- girlfriend is good friends with Russert's wife, Maureen. |

She says he was one of the sweetest people she has ever met.
Personally, I couldn't stand the sell-out s.o.b.

I think it's WONDERFUL to see such love between children and parents. I was very lucky cause both my father and mother were terrific. They're both gone now, my father died 3 months ago. I miss them both so much.

11. You don't know Luke ... |
|
He's just a media creation on the boob tube. For all anyone knows, he could be a spoiled fratboy prick.
Get out of your sentimental fantasy world of TV drama.
What's this doing in the presidential forum anyway?

13. TP and his son do have something to do w/ politics |
|
If that fratboy idiot GWB had not been so jealous of his father and if GHWB had paid the attention to his son that TR did, then maybe we wouldn't have this psychotic nutcase in the White House right now who was willing to see 4000+ American soldiers killed, thousands & thousands wounded, and millions of Iraqis killed just to show Poppy he was a 'real' man.
