John McCain takes $300,000 from Texas oilman who told rape victims to "lie back and enjoy it"
http://www.jedreport.com/2008/06/mccain-answers.html

Yesterday, John McCain cancelled his attendance at a fundraiser with Clayton Williams, who gave the following advice to rape victims: "As long as it's inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it."

4. Done!
Too bad Mr. Oilman doesn't take it in the @$$ from some big guy named Bubba. Then he'd learn that it's not something you "enjoy".

2. Texas oil people probably to a lot worse in close company.
McCain has be repeatedly fucked by his supporters. Much more so than Obama so far.

5. Good ole Clayton Williams. Your source is a bit vague on the details.
Clayton Williams was a good ole boy oilman who ran for governor against Ann Richards in 1990. He was supposed to win easily, but he kept sticking his foot in his mouth. Shortly before the election, he held a press conference, and it started to rain, or looked like it would rain, or something. So Williams told an often repeated, very disgusting Texas joke: The weather is like rape. If it's inevitable, just lay back and enjoy it.

That joke cost him the election. But it was 18 years ago, and he didn't actually tell rape victims to lay back and enjoy it. He repeated a joke that was rather well circulated already. Not that that makes him any less of an ass.

Funny to see his name pop up again. Glad to see he's still a good friend to the Democrats.

18. It wasn't at a press conference
He invited a bunch of reporters out to his ranch to enjoy an old fashioned chuck wagon steak dinner where they all sat around the campfire cowboy style and ate like the cowboys did.

The dinner was ruined by the rain and that's when Claytie told that lame joke.

19. Something nice about Claytie though
If anyone's ever heard of the "Marfa Lights", it's supposed to be a place in West Texas where mysteriously ghostly lights fly around the desert at night. Supposedly all are stumped at what they could be and they've been reported since the days of the Indians living there. (Honestly, just look like car headlights to me, but supposedly they aren't - but I digress.)

Anyway, it's a West Texas traditiona (and tourist trap) for people to turn off the highway, and sit out watching the lights, kind of like a drive in movie.

Last time we went, there was a new viewing area set up with explanations, and bathrooms and a pretty nice set-up that you can turn off to and not just park off the highway. The place said paid for by a generous donation by Clayton Williams.

So I thought, okay Claytie. I'll give you credit for this one.

Now if he could do something with the Alien Museum in Roswell ...

9. Halliburton
I beleive it's Halliburton (oil drilling) that is on the firing line concerning at least one but probably more incidents of drugging women and gangraping them in Iraq. It is Cheney that once was in charge of this company. There is a mindset that needs to be exposed here.

11. When he ran for Gov against Ann Richards...
that was one of the nastiest and most bizarre campaigns ever.

One of his ads had him walking in front of a chain-gang: "If kids are doing drugs, I'll send 'em to a work camp and make 'em bust rocks."

24. And they have the nerve to continue to go after Obama for Wright..
after THIS? Unbelievable. But not exactly surprising...'hypocritical' is not only a major trait of the GOP..it seems to be their middle name.

I know it's a small group, but how ANY woman who supported Hillary (or any woman with any self respect in general) who could support a candidate who at the very least enables these kind of views is beyond me..

To be honest, I feel extreme pity for their state of mind. Incidentally, if you think that this is less bad than Obama beating Clinton, I would suggest that you learn something about real feminism before ever opening your mouth again.
