5. Pastor.
He's probably the pastor of the church. He's not one of the megachurch pastors (like T.D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar, or Eddie Long).

Why are we watching someone in church period???!
How embarrassing for him to have a camera on him during what should be a private time. I resent that he has been forced to change places of worship for this campaign and now he must start over with the whole world watching.

I for one want to hear him, but I do not feel like being in church to do it.

Oh well, it is probably just me, but it feels like they would not do this with any other candidate.

I hope he remembers, the film is rolling for the gotcha, not for his speech.

Rule of opposition research is to film while a candidate is "preaching to the Choir". They will be comfortable and more likely to want to fire up their constituents and will say something that will turn off the swing voters.

This is a real choir! Yikes... ;)

23. You are right about that. you gotta admire him for that!
It is because he is genuine. The problem is the fake outrage is from the fake faithful. They wouldn't recognize the real spirituality his churches practice. Helping the poor? What kind of radical nonsense is that.
:sarcasm:

Only for Obama would I sit through church again. (damaged catholic here)

29. I just got back......
It was very wonderful. Our choirs are out of this world. Rivals what you are watching now easily.

I rushed home to catch this, as I read yesterday that Barack would be giving a Father's Day speech in church.

Anyhow, I was Catholic and was born again Baptist about 2 years ago (was baptised by immersion and everything). Catholic Mass was always a torture for me......with being on the knees and all of that just wasn't for me, apparently.

40. Yep.
... and as a black man that saw his father go to work every day to be the sole bread-winner and provider for his wife and six children, I agree with Sen. Obama 100%.

Now years later, my father can look at his youngest son as a success story. Those statistics are so accurate. Having a male figure in the home works wonders.

55. Obama should go to a different black church every few weeks...
so that we can see what the comments will be about black churches since some people seem to think they are expert on black churches and black people and somehow see them all as monolithic on all things...

Blacks, hispanic,Asians and others races are just as diverse as the so called MAINSTREAM, who don't seem to realize this country has many cultures and races and they all don't think the same...

How do these people believe this garbage when blacks have been in this country for hundreds of years do they not think that black people know them better than they know themselves in some cases..
