Did anyone watch Face the Nation and review Jindal and Gingrich's analysis on this race? |
|
Both men were 'trying' to push the Republicans away from making race the major factor in this presidential race.
(not quotes, paraphrasing what I took away from what he said) Jindal: MSM and Republicans are discounting the significance Americans place in competency and not identity politics.
Gingrich: Race does not matter as much as Rev. Wright and the new push Republicans have been making against unions and the 5 lawyer-judges choosing to place the U.S. in an unfavorable position in this War on Terror.
Do you think their view point will be successful considering what you've seen so far?
My bias: I'd love to see if this race could be about whether Obama/McCain's competency is sufficient to embrace, manage, and rectify all the problems the U.S. is currently facing. If I didn't have to hear or face another 6 months of the opposition candidate or his supporters reminding voters Obama is black, I'd be relieved. I don't believe my hope is realistic nor do I think it will come to pass.

2. Newt is pushing Jindal for VP. |
|
Jindal has an Indian background, so it wouldn't do for them to make race a factor. I wish I believed Gingrich had more honorable motives than that, but I don't.
