3. Tell me about it
I was at an election watch party at a big labor organization in DC in 2006, and when they showed him giving his concession speech everyone started singing "Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye".

20. question
Don't take this the wrong way, but isnt that what we do too? Most of us here were prepared to put our full support behind the nominee whoever that may have been. Heck, those of us who hated Clinton would have voted for her, and those who hated Obama would have voted for him too.

That's just what happens when you believe that your party is the better one.

Edited on Mon Jun-16-08 08:16 AM by stuntcat
haven't people talked for years about dividing and conquering Democrats. I swear I've heard repeatedly that that's our problem and togetherness is their strength.

I wasn't just typing stuff for the sake of it.. but well maybe I'm the only one who's noticed this over the years  lol maybe we should argue points that didn't have much to do with the thread just for the fun of it, this is the fightin' room after all!

23. Yes
people have talked for years about it, but that is because we are a more dynamic party than the republicans. We have to worry about many different constituencies that they do not have to worry about. They have the rich, the gun rights groups, the conservatives, the slightly more conservative, and the uber conservative, pro-life. We have women, the GLBT community, environmentalists, inner city residents, moderate conservatives, a few hunters, anti-gun people, a few corporations, vegans, meat eaters, pro-choice, pro-life, religious, anti-religious, etc. We are a party that could easily be split along some lines. We can easily be too conservative, or not conservative enough. We could be too pro-gun or too anti-gun.

The reason they can divide us is because we represent views that almost anyone could be happy to call their own. However, we also represent contradictory views.

And, since a lot of people here want to get rid of the DLCers, that is just pushing them over to the republicans.

13. Maybe the Town Hall meetings aren't such a bad idea
Get him in a one on one with Obama and have Obama push every button.....that would practically Nixonize McCain.

15. I bet they'd have the show
on a 5 second delay. That way, if McCain blew a gasket, they could go to a commercial or black screen and say "technical difficulties".

26. Find the citations first...
...I hate it when people send me a bunch of "quotes" and never say where they came from so they can be verified when they're trying to get me to change my mind about something. I doubt your relatives are too different, and it removes a lot of their ability to go into denial mode.
