You may have seen this already- letter re: Debra Bartoshevich, intending to vote for McCain |
Mr. -----, There was a resolution submitted at the Democratic Party of Wisconsin's State Convention this weekend, to request that the DNC strip her of her delegate status and be barred from the Democratic National Convention. It was passed at the State Convention unanimously. All delegates are required to sign a statement of intent form which states that they support Democratic candidates. In addition, our State Delegate Selection Plan states that certified delegates "will not publicly support or campaign for any candidate for President or Vice President other than the nominees for the Democratic National Convention. (Call, II.B.) (Page 20 of the plan). There is precedent to strip her of her delegate status, given that Senator Joe Lieberman endorsed John McCain, and lost his super delegate status with the Democratic Party. He is now an Independent. We are awaiting word from the DNC on a ruling. Thank you for your concern. Les Nakamoto Chair 5th CD DPW, Administrative Committee Member representing the 5th CD

2. Lieberman was elected by Republicans |
The GOP ran a total doofus who didn't get very many votes, so they voted for Lieberman. I'm sure they are happy that they did.

3. We had to kick a woman off our central committee |
for essentially the same thing. She was supporting her Repug BIL against our state Rep. - She did not go quietly, but the rules are pretty explicit.
