18. A Biden pick bolsters Obama's foreign policy profile by inviting a
true expert into the administration.

Plus, Biden's a Catholic and no slouch at debate. Biden's positives are signicant, and several of them specifically would make it much harder for John McCain to become president.

Jack Reed VP. (I know he hasn't been talked about much, but I figured I'd throw long -- the better to amaze people if it actually comes to pass.)

My win % is adjusted downward because of e-vote election fraud. I suspect that the actual win would be closer to 75% if it weren't for the fraud.

13. Can you think of anyone not in the Senate or House who might work?
Edited on Sun Jun-15-08 10:58 PM by babylonsister
That was my criteria, and I know, Schweitzer and Napolitano, but anyone else? Chafee might get some rethugs to climb on board, and he's pretty liberal. But maybe someone, like Reed, with some military background? 'Cept he's in the Senate, too.

Do you really think McinSane would pick Joe? Hmmm. I think he's going to wind up on the slag heap either way. :toast:

Gary Hart is not the first choice for a lot of people, but he brings a lot of smarts and experience, plus national security creds to the ticket.

Plus he has a Divinity degree, so there isn't a fundie around who could push him around on theology. I like the idea of OUR side owning that court.

Agree with you that all 4 of those states come into immediate, competitive play with Gov. Richardson on the ticket.

Bloomberg is the second banana type.

And Jindal for McCain's veep. It must be me, but I am just not seeing Jindal anywhere close to real power. What does McCain get with Jindal? Not trying to be disputatious, but it just seems as if Jindal doesn't bring anything significant to the ticket.

McCain could be in wobbly health, but if he holds up and there are no serious conditions between now and November, he's the guy whose name is on the ballot on the GOP line.

I think a lot of Republicans may not want to give up relatively safe jobs to be his running mate, given the growing strength of Obama's candidacy.

Bobby was a Clinton supporter, and he is a populist. Older blue collar workers who had supported Bobby's father, then were lured into the Reagan message--whom many now consider themselves independents and their votes up for grabs--may want Bobby in the WH.

If RFK Jr is not chosen by Obama for the veep nom, and Senator Clinton is appointed to a Cabinet position, it wouldn't surprise me much if RFK Jr decided to reclaim his dad's seat.

49. Maybe it is another one of those "too close to call" things
:)

The problem is I have about seven personal favorites, and my number one choice changes hourly. I am so politically fickle these days, sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I have not morphed into a Republican.

I truly like Sebelius quite a bit. I also like Biden quite a bit. I daydream about Caroline Kennedy being selected (if Bush can "serve" for eight years with his limited experience, how can anyone rule out Caroline Kennedy for that reason)? Obama should offer Caroline an Ambassadorship ... are you ready ... to Cuba. Now that would really signal change is on the way! How revolutionary would that be?

I think Obama will win by a landslide because most Americans have been cornered into a position where they have no choice but to vote Democratic. I think Obama will tank McCain in November. It will be difficult to think of a celebration worthy of the occasion -an Obama Presidency buttressed by Al Gore, Joe Biden, Edwards, Richardson - it's a political dream come true - but I am going to start giving some serious thought right now as to a fitting observance of that event....

Sam

Oh, yes, Obama takes 62% of the vote and Hagel just might be standing there beside him when he does.
