Did you know this is not the first recipe that Cindy McCain plagerized?
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5haqFOG4C6X_x1hB5c5kwSGzR7p9Q

Cindy McCain, who earlier this year had to apologize for plagiarizing a recipe for passion fruit mousse from Food Network, went for oatmeal butterscotch cookies.

Look we all know that someone like Cindy McCain probably does not cook. When you're worth the millions that she is, you hire cooks. But geez, you could at least give credit to the fact that your cookies came from a Hershey Cookbook. Of course if you see the recipe the 2 changes are a highlight of what you can expect from a McCain presidency: She removed Hershey from the brandname for the butterscotch chips AND she shortchanged the amount added.

2. I just read where McCain is using a campaign song written by a guy who is a USRep from NY and a Dem

The guy in the middle is John Hall who is now a US Representative up in the state of NY. Hall is very progressive and very pro-enviroment. He was alos a part of the band Orleans which wrote the song "Still the One"

well guess what McCain used on his campaign. The McCains must have some really shitty fact checkers. Using songs written by DEmocratic US Representatives and stealing recipes.

21. I also highly doubt he looked at the album cover.
That would make a great 527 ad.

9. meh..
Paula Dean stole a recipe from Velveeta.
Seinfeld's wife stole a few recipes.

This probably happens more times than not.

And as far as the Rosemary Chicken, my grandma used to make something very similar for my mom when she was a kid.

Lifting a few of the recipes directly is plagarism. Making changes to them and adapting them is different.

13. That's like saying "changing a couple of notes" in a song
isn't copyright infringement. The Courts disagree. Just ask George Harrison or Ray Parker, Jr.

26. As much as I love George, he definitely unconciously lifted
the music. Think about it:

"My Sweet Lord"

I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose. It was rolling around in his head and he thought he wrote it. It's happened many times before.

22. On the contrary
I beseech you to look through cookbooks. Almost every recipe for chocolate chip cookies is the same. Almost every recipe for Rosemary Chicken is the same.

Once someone gets it right, most people just do slight variations off of the original. There is a reason that the Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is the most often made cookie in this country. However, many people do slight variations of them. And in the end, the slight variations can bring some pretty different flavors and textures.

At that point, the recipe is no longer the Tollhouse recipe, it is something new.

25. Sorry, but I have looked through a few cookbooks in my time.
I've never seen 2 recipes as close as these 2. The ingredients are even in the same order! That's no coincidence or "tweaking".

14. Has she no sense of decency?
The problem is that this group, lies about stuff that no one cares about. It's a cookie recipe so the obvious link becomes, if she will lie about cookies, what else will she (and by association he) lie about?

The amount of pure dumbness that is shown is simply remarkable.
