Except for Joe Biden!
I'm not excited about anyone else AT ALL.
Thanks for listening.

thats why a real leftist wont be on the ticket. fear of it being exploited. which is something i think could go either way.... i mean, as far as controversial social issues .. obama is in line with the left... so maybe the other issues wouldnt be that big of a target on someone like kucinich.
ah well.
ill just keep on dreamin' my dream of a ticket that actually represents the left/progressives.

He would excel as VP or SOS.
However, I belong to the "keep him in the Senate" camp. He's doing such great work there (though I don't know enough about DE to know whether his seat would stay Democratic if he were VP or SOS) and a Democratic president would need all the D's he could keep in the Senate.

7. Stop looking to the Hill to fill the spot. We need all our DEMS on the HILL to stay there |
|
Obama leaves us one down, so we need a strong liberal in his seat, but we don't need to lose any more from there. We need to add to the DEM majority so President Obama can actually get things done.
Look to state houses for VP. Lots of talent out there and voters would be happier with someone from off the Beltway.
The Senate and House of Reps is hardly the only talent pool to draw from.

9. I'm glad someone else recognizes the need to keep folks in |
|
their senate or house seat. Folks keep trying to take all the good senators with experience from their jobs of representing their states and sticking them in administrative jobs in the White House, it makes very little sense to me. We want to keep the good folks in the Senate, they write the laws.

11. And being good at legislation does not guarentee good at executive job |
|
There is a HUGE difference and being good at one does not always transfer to the other.
DEMs on the Hill need to stay on the Hill so Obama can get some real change made. Without a resounding majority and experienced leaders in the legislative bodies, we still get gridlock.

8. He would be an excellent addition to the ticket on so many levels, |
|
and would be an excellent VP.
But I'm leaning more toward SOS for him.
Have you considered Brian Schweitzer?

He did't endorse Obama until he had clinched and he does have a bit of Washington baggage with him.

He did not endorse because he gave his word to both candidates that he would not, until the nominee was known.

13. I think they all have strong and weak points. I'm not crazy about Biden... |
|
because he was part of the Dem lemmings in Congress who went along with most of Bush's worst policies and appointments. But Obama could do worse than Biden.
I don't know much about Webb yet, and he is someone who intrigues me.
I think it's a moot point, anyway, because it's my feeling that Obama will surprise us all, and we will say "Damn, why didn't I think of that person?"
