So McCain drops out just before the convention due to poor health/performance
and the great white horse rides in. Who will it be?

Jeb?
Mitt?

Who?

4. No way it would be Jeb. Dumbya has ruined the Bush brand for generations.
I don't think it's going to happen. Sadly for them, McCain IS their great hope. If he dies before November, they will trot his corpse out on stage at rallies.

6. The majority of Rethugs still support the shrub.
And they're the ones who would be voting in a convention, not Independents or Democrats.

Jeb might look great to those idiots.

20. The majority of Rethugs still support him.
The reason his overall support is so low is because virtually no Democrats and few Independents support him.

5. Seriously....
I think this is what is going to happen...just about the time of the Dem. Convention in order to pull the media away from that story, as it is obvious that Obama will cruise through to the nom. McCain just cannot win against Obama as the polls are already indicating. He keeps screwing up and now folks are noticing. So my contention is that McCain will quit due to 'health concerns' and his delegates (suitably juiced up) will move to some 'Great Leader.' I'm thinking JEB (John Ellis Bush...so many people don't know that JEB isn't his name). But we'll be able to tell soon as the Wurlitzer starts singing somebody's praises...could even be the Huckster if he saves a few more choking victims. Could even be Petraeus, esp. if Obama picks Clark.

10. And the media will work to turn this whole thing into a horserace because
that is so much better for their ratings.
