The Puma Party: "Party Unity, My Ass". No, this is not from The Onion.
http://www.gopumaparty.com/About.html

Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, Harry Reid, Donna Brazile,
shame on all of you.

They did to us what the Republicans did.

If we cannot trust the Democratic Party to uphold democracy,
then who do we trust?

We have joined together with 50+ other pro-Hillary, anti-Obama
groups and blogs. We number in the millions.

Anyone else notice that the first three letters of their URL are "GOP"? :puke:

I don't think that's what they mean by it, but "Go Puma." I say this because I know some former DUers who are involved with that group. I still think it's a shame, but I doubt it is a Repuke front.

11. Millions of webmasters register through GoDaddy
Because they're cheap and don't do sneaky crap like Network Solutions. Even Barack Obama registered his domain through GoDaddy.

I wouldn't blame GoDaddy for this. It's just a domain registrar and hosting company.

As for the private domain registration, all domain registrars offer this option - except when a webmaster wants to register a .us TLD.

As for hill44, we already know who owns that one. Alex Rodriguez.

Obama doesn't use that. And a lot of domain registrars have privacy options.

I am always suspicious of Domains by Proxy.

13. Obama can't use a proxy
His site is a campaign site and must be identified per FEC rules.

Look, I'm not saying that hiding a site behind a proxy is always a good thing. What I'm saying is that hiding behind a proxy isn't always about hiding nefarious connections. I hide mine. I have my reasons. I am a single woman in a very red, and very scary town in Texas.

Also, I'm not saying that these astroturf sites are innocent. Murray Lipp and Alex Rodriguez and those like them are scum. I always have a bit of suspicion when I see one of these astroturf domains hiding behind a proxy.

What I'm saying is that the above poster is misdirecting suspicion to GoDaddy.

31. This is a non-issue.
I own hundreds of domains and have this service on most of them. I'm not harboring vicious diatribes and hiding behind the registration. I'm just using a free service (one year, with registration) from Godaddy, and protecting myself from spam and potential lunatics.

And when it runs out, I put my company name on there with the address of a PO Box. Still can't find me.

Seriously, this is such a non-issue, move along.

33. You're *telling* us to move along? By whose authority?
I own 300+ domains. My own domain registar has a similar service -- you do not need to go to Godaddy to cloak your domain.
Godaddy is only widely known because they advertise. They are far down the list of recommended domain registrars.

It just so happens that the GOP and the right-wing flocks and camouflages with Godaddy. Whenever I see a domain cloak itself,
I am suspicious. I use a professional address and single-use email domain for my registrations, as do most webmasters I know.

34. nobody's authority. it's ubiquitous and evidence of nothing.
You aren't telling me anything I don't already know (although you are lowballing Godaddy's market position).

There are people who abuse Whois records. People want to avoid this. It can be avoided by using Domains-by-proxy.

Just because you choose to put your personal information (name, address, phone number, etc) on your domain records doesn't mean that any of us who don't are to be suspected of something.

Anyway, long story short: People use GoDaddy because they advertise, and they often use Domains-By-Proxy because it's free (and can prevent abuse). I don't see the problem here.

Do these people have no inner critic, that might allow them to reflect on how ridiculous they seem?

What had me laughing... the demographic of "PUMA" being so similar to that related to the modern slang "cougar" (perhaps shifted forward a bit), but with a polar opposite fetish. Are Pumas like Cougars, except instead of going after younger men, they prefer old dudes... reaaaally old dudes?

So move along now, with that image in your mind... all these PUMAs wanting to get-it-on with John McCain.

which makes up most of PUMA (all PUMA is is putting together that name with the blogroll from Just Say No Deal).

Ok so a large majority of the links on Just Say No Deal are one person blogs. This one has eight people on it: http://www.freewebs.com/hillaryvillagers/. Adding those together, I get 57 people total. This one has a staff button, but you can't click it: http://onevoteonebrick.googlepages.com/home

Can't tell on several of them.

Shit, I got tired of going through those messy awful looking websites. Needless to say, I think even if I'm generous, the count MIGHT be 100 people total running those sites.

Scary, scary. LOL.

I was reading one of the smallish blogs that has been playing this up. Just after Obama clinched some bitter people were musing about what they'd do in the GE: sit it out, write in Hillary, vote for Barr or Nader or what. There was one particular poster who'd pop up in any of those comment threads to remind everyone that the ONLY way to send a clear message to Obama and the DNC was to vote McCain."Don't be afraid to pull the lever for McCain" was another thing s/he said. I'm pretty sure that the owner of the blog I was reading was sincere - really delusional at this point, but sincere. Not everyone who shows up to post there is, however.

"They did to us what the Republicans did."

Founder of "Just Say No Deal", Diane Mantouvalos: "I'm not even a Democrat".

UK Guardian quotes Diane as a Clinton "contributor", but Open Secrets has no record of any donation from her.
Clinton "supporter" Will Bower also has no record at Open Secrets. They can start this phony "movement", but didn't pony up a dime for HRC?

H44 founder Alex Rodriquez is a Perot supporter who tried to destroy Democratic NY Governor Mario Cuomo.

The whole thing is a sham, but is naturally being picked up by the Wall Street media in a false effort to sow division in our Party.
