Tweety was just flat out rude to Amy Goodman
Edited on Mon Jun-16-08 04:47 PM by senseandsensibility
She was on his show just now. He asked her one question to the right wing guests three or four. When it was time to end the piece, he said good-bye to "Heidi" (the right wing guest) and ignored Amy.

Amy, of course, was well prepared and brought up many topics about the womens' vote that should have sparked a follow up question from Tweety. He never followed up once. But he was VERY interested in "Heidi", and followed up with all her inanities.

For those of you who missed the show, Amy even brought up the McCain fundraiser's rape comments. No wonder Tweety didn't want to go there.

4. Funny, I thought Tweety was trying to make the R-W talk show woman look like the idiot she was.
That's why he was repeatedly asking her more questions, and with each answer she looked more foolish. I did not see any rudeness to Amy Goodman.

5. From the moment MSNBC announced the death of Russert, I just
knew what to expect. Tweety is rudderless right now, Tim sort of guided him along and nudged him on what position(s) to take on issues. Evidently we are going through the "McCain gets a pass on all things" phase.

I have been with CNN since last week and find it far less aggravating.

10. I'm sure she has too much integity to take it
But she'd sure show those bloviating tools what a real interview looks like.

8. Hey, give him a break -- he'd look even worse if his audience could really see the contrast.
Amy rocks!

9. Just a guess, but I think MSNBC hosts are going t be jockeying for MTP....
and will try to adopt Russert's attorney-based interrogations of his guests. It worked for Russert. He knew what he was doing, and it fit.

I don't think it's going to look so good on everybody, including Matthews.

That's just my guess of what is going on. I'm not watching MSNBC until they get beyond their macabre Feast-O-Death.

11. Matthews interrupts people entirely too much
to be a guess on Meet the Press.

12. it's with women like Amy that Tweety's misogyny comes out strongest
Because she has ZERO interest in using feminine wiles and coquettishness to earn favor. I get the sense he also hates Rachel for many of the same reasons. He likes women, if they are in politics at all, to maintain a traditional, non-threatening brand of femininity.

14. Not sure what happened but Amy Goodman is one of the hardest working
journalists I have ever seen. She is always prepared and knowledgeable.

A true model of what a journalist should be.
