Head of Wellstone Action to head Obama state campaign

Jeff Blodgett, who was manager of Paul Wellstone's Senate campaigns, will lead the Barack Obama for President effort in Minnesota. The appointment will be officially announced later today.

Blodgett's title will be state director. He will start July 1 and will be on leave of absence from his job as executive director of Wellstone Action, a Minnesota-based project that trains leaders for the progressive movement. — Eric Black

2. This support of such a close associate of Wellstone almost brings tears to my eyes....
Wellstone was a truly great man, I respected him a lot, and I am pleased that one of his close associates, who worked with Wellstone, is supporting Obama.

Excellent choice by Obama.
