I just saw a speech (totally mesmerizing, by the way) in which Obama said, "Even your dogs and cats know elections matter." But that speech was delivered earlier today in Flint. Now there are threads around attributing that to Al Gore. I had to leave the room briefly during his speech endorsing Obama, so I must have missed that. So who said it first?

I haven't seen the earlier Flint speech, so maybe Obama said it first.
It doesn't matter, much, though. Politicians share lines all the time.
