Bush approval sinks below Nixon, LOWEST SINCE 1938 - new ABC/WaPo poll |
|
June 16, 2008 11:18 PM A new ABC News/Washington Post poll highlights a discouraging situation for President Bush and possibly for the Republican party. According to the new figures, George W. Bush's disapproval ratings have reached a record for any president since 1938. 68% of Americans disapprove of the job he is doing. That tops Truman's 67% and Nixon's 66%. http://blogs.abcnews.com/nightlinedailyline/2008/06/closing-argum-8.htmlhttp://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/documents/postpoll_061608.html?hpid=topnews:)

1. Tee hee. Although I can't believe only 68%! |

I figured at this point, only his momma would think he's brilliant. Even Pickles must get tired of tying his shoes every day.

9. Per an NPR report, ~25% of people *always* follow authority. |
|
I don't recall the specific show/report -- I heard it while driving out in the desert early this year -- but the suggestion was that, short of coming in and stealing their children or something, about 25% of people will automatically defer to any authority in charge and pretty much never go against it. Sad, but it makes sense, looking around.
That means that only about 7% of people who are even capable of questioning authority are actually with Bush.
And, of course, even *that* number seems high.

|

5. Actually, his disapproval rating is the highest on record. |
|
His approval is 29%, which seems like it must be at least tied with the lowest.

I'am an enthusiastic Bush non-supporter from way, way back. Even couldn't stand him when he was at 90%. Guess I've got good taste. :)

Back when it was 90% I never could figure out why our nation getting attacked made him a GOOD president??? Everytime I'd try to express that point of view (however) I was told to shut it and how I hated America. Go figure.
