2. Reply to this particular reply... |
|
if you think it's rather funny that the people who pimped the "Obama as plagiarist" attacks now wish the whole "Cindy caught red-handed plagiarizing twice" thing would just go away.

7. I believe in giving credit where credit is due. It's not the biggest deal... |
|
but if she doesn't bake, she should just say so. And if she bakes but uses recipes from different companies, she should give them credit. It's just basic ethics.
Personally, I think it's insulting in this day and age to keep asking women to give us their recipes at all.
Now, I happen to be really good at making up recipes myself - even though I have not led the life of a conventional wife and mother. But I have found that most people don't make up their own stuff. They get recipes from books or on the backs of packages or from friends.
And that's all you have to do is say, "I love the oatmeal cookie recipe on the Quaker Oats box." Personally, I think anybody who believes Cindy McCain spends a lot of time in the kitchen is kinda nutty.

It's important because she's trying to pass herself off as something she's not: a "regular person" instead of the mutli-million dollar heiress she is. This goes to the blatant hypocrisy of Republicans. They attack the Obamas as elitists who are out of touch and try to portray themselves as "regular americans" who can identify with the working class and nothing could be farther from the truth. Why can't she just tell the truth and say that she never cooks?
She needs to be called out on it
