Comment on this aggressive ad idea I have |
|
By aggressive I mean a little risky. But it goes with the campaign of marginalizing the wackos. Here it goes
We have a Big Voice Guy (or Gal) doing a voice-over. Maybe Morgan Freeman. The incoming narration goes like this:
BVG: Since 2001, more than 4000 Americans have been killed in Iraq. More than 10,000 have been wounded. More than 1,000,000 Iraqis have been killed in the war. More than 4 million have been displaced. More than 5 million Americans have lost their health insurance. More than 10 million have had their jobs moved overseas.
(this goes on for 20 sec or so, with a laundry list of *'s disasters). Then comes
BVG: These are serious times. We have problems that we need to address. We need a serious, committed effort by as many Americans as we can get, to be our best. What are Republicans doing?
Then we cut to clips from Fox News ("He's a half-rican", "He's a terrorist"), Limpballs, Ingram, Reagan, Weiner, etc. spouting their filthiest, most hate-filled shit.
Then fade out with "Are you with us, or with them"?
What do you think?

1. I'm with ya right up until...... |
|
"Are you with us, or with them"? We are a unifying not a divisive movement.

2. IF ONLY the Democrats would create a hard-hitting ad like yours. I love it, but |
|
in their minds, it is too harsh and they are afraid of offending. Knowing how the corporate media will spin everything to put the GOPers in a positive light and us in a negative one, their fears are not unfounded. But maybe, if just once, they were aggressive and stuck to that tact, they would see that the American people do respond to bold statements. Why are the pukes so successful with their lying crap? Because (some) Americans do appreciate courage.

3. Usually I Don't Like Attack Ads |

but yours is different. I would consider changing the last line to something more positive, but it's a great way of focusing people and putting the fluff in perspective.

4. How about changing the last line to |
|
BVG: The choice for this fall: Move to the future(show pic of Obama and the mobs from Portland)... or stay stuck in the past (pic of O'Reilly & McSame together).

5. Could Be, But the Ad Doesn't Say Much About Obama |
|
It is really an attack ad, employing the over-the-comments of the press in order to mock them. It's kind of a disconnect. The transition from the very real troubles of the Bush years is good because it trivializes the talking heads, but it's kind of a leap.
The goal is to find something that naturally follows both parts and makes a case to vote for Obama.
