haven't been in gd-p much lately
it's sad to see people who are in this forum who continue to take swipes at the nominee.

Perceptions are tainted by emotional opinions... as in... maybe donations are down at DU because people have been dealing with all the flooding. maybe because they don't have health coverage. maybe because the economy sucks. to state that donations are down b/c of a lot of primary infighting is making an assumption that cannot be supported by fact... I guess you could poll all DU-ers and have some data, but until you do, you have nothing but your own perception.

I've seen people in this forum today who continue to insult Obama, and then others who defend the practice. I could call out some names, but that wouldn't be cool, so I won't.

when Kerry won the nomination, I wasn't thrilled. I was also really, really busy with other stuff. but, because I didn't really have anything nice to say about Kerry, I didn't say anything at all.

No one has to post in this forum. there are many others on DU.

No one has to post on a particular topic. I did not post one thing about Tim Russert. My opinion about him really doesn't add or take away anything about his life or death, or to my validity as a human.

anyway, I wasn't a long term gd-p person. I came here when my state's primary was in play. I left when Obama had the nomination because I knew and know there are good and interesting people on this site whose feelings were/are hurting. But I also left because I didn't need to be angry with people.

just my thoughts. sometimes it's useful to hear from someone who isn't involved in your own day-to-day dramas. fwiw.
