Has Obama winning the Democratic Nomination Helped Him With White Voters? |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-17-08 10:55 PM by Tony_FLADEM
During the primary season I sensed there was some apprehension in the country as to how well Obama could do in the general election.
I am getting the impression that since Obama has crossed the hurdle (becoming the presumptive nominee) it's becoming somewhat easier to see him as President and this is helping him with white voters.
On Edit:
I didn't say Obama had a problem with white voters. Obviously he couldn't have become the nominee without them. I am saying - each achievement Obama has made i.e.
1. Winning Iowa 2. Raising $200 Million 3. Becoming the Nominee
has reduced the issues some white voters have had with him, Each occurance builds on itself.

3. Well, he had to get quite a few white people's votes to win the nomination. |
|
And those who supported other candidates didn't necessarily make their decision based on race, although we all saw the Daily Show segments and various news segments that showed those kind of people.
Will he get the vote of every registered Democrat? No. No Democrat ever does. Will he get the overwhelming majority? Yes, he already has the overwhelming majority of Democrats who voted in the primary, regardless of who they voted for.

7. Millions of "white voters" have already voted for him |
|
Just because a few KKK chapters in Appalachia didn't, doesn't mean he has a problem with the Melanin-challenged voters.
