5. I'm the exact opposite
I think all marriage should be banned: gay, straight, or otherwise.

Seriously, California is taking steps in the right direction. In 6 months, people will realize that gay marriage will have had absolutely no consequence on their lives.

And then New York will follow suit because New York is always trying to be like California. Can you guys ever get an original idea? :D

6. Original? Sorry but no.
California is trying to be like Massachusetts. Which already has marriage equality, and has for months now. California is too late to set the trend, sorry about that. I'd say as a California native that the days of California setting trends is long past. California has not been the first on any major change in like a decade or more. Update the material. Or better yet, get CA back on the trend setting track. Last CA first thing I can think of was 215 for medical marijuana. Long ago.
But just know that California is following Massachusetts, and the state that follows California will also be following Massachusetts. California is just the second out of 50, early but not trend setting. Also, if the voters overturn it, California will be behind the rest again...and that is not out of the question at all.
If CA wants to remain hip, work to defeat the initiavite against equality. Prove CA is still at least as forward looking as Massachuestts.

8. That is good news...
Many in California make such statments with no tounge in cheek. Satire can be rough in a world like this one. Not to mention in the flat and static context of the internet. Sorry to have missed your humor.
