Rethuglican framing: LETS DRILL EVERYWHERE! (Al GORE TO BLAME!)
Edited on Wed Jun-18-08 08:27 AM by endarkenment
This seems to be their strategy to deal with the price inflation problem at the pump: blame it on al gore and those fucking tree hugging hippies who won't let us drill every square inch of 'merca.

And our response?

The facts are of course that most of the regions they seem to think would be good to drill don't have any oil worth drilling, even at 150/barrel. ANWAR of course has some oil, but not enough to make an actual difference. And the Atlantic coast has nothing at all worth any effort.

But we are not dealing with the fact based community. The liars intend to just lie repeatedly and with abandon. They intend to blame the libruls and they now have a concerted orchestrated coordinated bullshit campaign in full swing to reframe this issue to their advantage.

We cannot drill our way out of the oil problem. We can drill our way into a ecological mess for an almost unnoticeable increase in domestic production in ANWAR, and that is pretty much all we have for domestic production. I don't see the Obama campaign tackling the thuglican bullshit offensive headon here. Perhaps they haven't come up with an effective response to this yet?

Any suggestions?

1. The "it just enriches the oil companies" meme doesn't work
because they are suddenly not the bad guys. The whole cause of the rise in gas prices is due to speculators, now. Never mind that the oil companies are STILL making record profits

Why haven't I seen speculation that the oil companies and the wall street speculators are working hand-in-glove to soak the public?
